Opening Piece (The Poem of Me )

The is a poem, I wrote it in Times New Roman, the assignment was a poem that

was about me, I selected it for my portfolio because I felt that it allowed me to express

myself through the form of writing.

Composition (Authors of the Romantic Era )

Analytical writing, I reviewed and gathered dated about the authors and their style

of writing. The assignment was to choose three Authors and do a comparison of the

different authors. This compiled information allowed me to make reflections and an

assessment of their writing. This reflects that my writing can be analytical and

simultaneously creative when making assessments with the information available.

Research Paper (Global Warming )

Persuasive, I wrote it using Time New Roman style and I wrote using information

that I have learned also I used information that I got off the internet. The assignment was

module 6 topic 4, which required me to select a topic that I feel strongly about and to

express an argument to improve it. I selected that assignment for my portfolio because I

care about the world I want people to know that when they look at my resume. This

indicates that my writing can be persuasive and fact based rather than purely emotional.
Writers Choice (Pinocchio)

Narrative writing, I wrote it using Time New Roman, this assignment was

something that I did over the school year in 11th grade. I selected this story because I felt

that it indicated on how I like to take two versions of a story and combine the two and

create a third version of the story and it was fun and simple. This is an example of the

creative ability in my writing which allowed me to take a well-known story and develop it

to a different level.

Closing reflection letter- (Portfolio Reflection)

This reflective piece explored my work throughout the course. I was assigned to

write five paragraphs each one was a question in regards to my portfolio. These

questions helped me analyze my progress as a writer during the course and how different

elements of my writing had improved. Although a reflective task, there was an analytical

side to answering the questions, which required me to review my portfolio and locate the

article that best suited the question, asked, and followed by an explanation of why this

piece best answered the parameters of the question. This reflects that I have an

analytical writing style, however, I have discovered a more creative side through this

course.
