Map Mini-Project

Have you ever dreamed of having your own special land? Congratulations! You just discovered the land
of your dreams. You are going to make a physical map showing your own special country. You must
include the following:
Part 1: Designing your map
1. Compass Rose (with cardinal and intermediate directions)
2. Scale
3. Key
4. 5 landforms
5. At least 5 colors used
6. Longitude and Latitude Lines-Please look and make sure your latitude is realistic. If you
have a tropical island, for example, it should be located in the tropics. If your land is a
snowy tundra, it should be located near the Arctic Circle.
7. Be sure to be neat and creative!

Part 2: Description of your country

You must also write a brief description of your land. Explain the following in your written
description:
1. Climate
2. Special Landforms
3. At least 3 elements of culture
4. Why your land is your favorite place on Earth?
