Bangalore University Jnanabharathi, Bengaluru-560 056 Ph.No, 22961039, Fax:080 - 23211020 Webs www.bangaloreuniversity.se.n- gon:2017-18 27" August 2016 NOTIFICATION Bangalore University invites applications for various types of affiliation from the affiliated Colleges/ Managements situated in the Bangalore University Jurisdiction viz., Bangalore City, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagar, Chikkaballapur and Kolar Districts for the academic year 2017-18 as prescribed in Sections 59 and 62 of the KSU Act, 2000. 1. RENEWAL OF AFFILIATION: Applications are invited for renewal of affiliation to the existing courses, additional courses and enhancement of intake in the existing affliated Colleges under the Faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management and Education. The Colleges intending to apply for renewal of affliation/ enhancement of intake to BHM, MBA, MCA should obtain prior approval of AICTE, for BASLP, MASLP or B.Sc/M.Sc(Speech & Hearing) from Rehabilitation Council of India, B.£4./6.P.EdIM.Ed. colleges from NCTE as applicable NAAC Accreditation: As per the State Government Circular No. ED 76 UBV 2011 Bangalore dated:17- 05-2011 and the University Circular No.Aca-llIINAAC/2011-12 dated:09-06-2011, the Colleges which have completed 5 years as on 2011-12 are asked to adhere to the standards circulated by NAAC compulsorily from the academic year 2012-13 and obtain a minimum of ‘C' grade. The Principals of all the colleges have to make efforts to adhere to the directions of the State Government issued from time to time. Renewal of affiation to such colleges for the academic year 2017-18 is subject {0 NAAC accreditation of ‘C’ grade. However, this condition is subject to State Government's direction from time to time. Colleges which are offering both U.G. and P.G. courses shall submit separate applications for ‘renewal of affiliation to Under-graduate and Post-Graduate courses. Checklist for the grant of Renewal of Afflition/Enhancement or reduction of Intake/Additional course/Permanent affilation/ Renewal of Permanent Affliation and the guidelines are available in the University Website referred above, 2. AFFILIATION OF ADDITIONAL COURSE: The Colleges can apply for affiliation for starting additional courses under the Faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management. The courses can be mentioned in column 7 b of Renewal of affiliation application form. There is no need to submit separate application. Colleges should seek affiliation to only approved combinations of UG courses. List of approved combinations are posted in the University Website. For starting of P.G. courses: Colleges having permanent afflation or atleast five years of continuous affiliation only shall be eligible to start postgraduate programmes. Those colleges which do not have ‘accreditation shall apply to NAAC for accreditation within 2 years ftom the date of affliation to P.G. programmes. The Colleges having less than 5 years of continuation of affllation and New Colleges (Fresh affiliation) are not permitted to apply for affliation to any P.G. courses, The eligible Colleges intending to apply for affiliation to P.G. Programmes have to mention the P.G. courses in column 7 b of Renewal of affliation application form prescribed for P.G. courses and also they have to submit a preliminary report showing the infrastructure and other facilities available for each programme, with proof of sufficient financial and other resources for sustaining the programme, along with the application. The Govt. Colleges ‘should have prior permission from Dept. of Collegiate Education to apply for P.G. Courses. ‘3. ENHANCEMENT OF INTAKE: ‘The Colleges can apply for enhancement of intake to courses under the Faculties of Ars, Science, Commerce & ‘Management. In case of P.G. courses, colleges should note that they are not permitted to seek enhancement of intake to P.G. course more than the intake fixed in the respective University P.G. FRESH AFFILIATION TO START A NEW COLLEGE (EXCLUDING P.G. COURSES): ‘The Managements/Society/Trusts registered under Societies Registration Act/Trust Act, are eligible to apply for Fresh affiation to start new Colleges (approved UG courses/combinations only) in the Bangalore University jurisdiction. Note: Managements/Society/Trusts are not permitted to apply for afiation to B.Ed/B.P-Ed. course as per the NCTE directions,‘6. PERMANENT AFFILIATION/CONTINUATION OF PERMANENT AFFILIATION (EXCLUDING P.G. COURSES): Permanent Affliaion: As per Section 62 of KSU Act 2000, the colleges affiated to Bangalore University ‘continuously for a period of not less than 5 years and futfiling the conditions of affiliation and attained the academic and the administrative standards on an average stipulated by the University from time to time shall be eligible for grant of permanent affiliation. As per G.O.No. ED 37 UBV 2007 Dt: 9-4-2007, colleges ‘must be accredited with NAC, C grading. Renewal of permanent affiliation - The colleges which have completed term/s of Permanent Afiiation shall apply for renewal of permanent affiliation. ‘The colleges should submit application for Permanent affliation/Renewal of Permanent affiliation and renewal of affiliation along with the prescribed affliation fees. 6. SHIFTING CHANGE OF NAME/CHANGE OF MANAGEMENT ETC., Requests for Shifting of Colleges, Change of Name/Management, will be considered uls 59(5) of the K.S.U, Act, 2000. Colleges wiling to apply for the same should submit separate application. with copies of the relevant documents such as, a) Resolutions of the Governing Body/Trust of the colleges, b) Building plans, Sale/Lease deed, c) NOCs from other Departments, if any, etc., a8 required, along with prescribed fee. Note: Colleges/Managemonts should note that the permission for Change of Name/Management etc, has to be approved by the State Govt 7.
