Exercise1: For all trials of Run 1, compute for the total power and the power in every resistor

in the
circuit using measured values of voltage and current.

Trial VT AT PT V1 V2 V3 P1 P2 P3
(volts) (mA) (watts) (volts) (volts) (volts) (watts) (watts) (watts)
1 3 1.8 4.2 0.5 0.8 1.5 0.09 1.44 2.7
2 6 3.3 19.14 1.0 1.7 1.7 3.3 5.61 10.23
3 10 5.2 51.48 1.7 2.9 2.9 8.84 15.08 27.56
Trial 1 : Trial 3:
Power rule P=I x R Power rule P=I x R
P1=1.8 x 0.5 P1=5.2 x 1.7
P1=0.9 watt P1=8.84 watt

P2=1.8 x 0.8 P2=5.2 x 2.9

P2=1.44 watt P2=15.08watt

P3=1.8 x 1.5 P3=5.2 x 2.9

P3=2.7 watt P3=15.08 watt

PT= 0.9+1.44+2.7 PT=8.84+15.08+15.08

PT=5.04 watt PT=39 watt

Trial 2 :
Power rule P=I x R

P1=3.3 x 1.0
P1=3.3 watt

P2=3.3x 1.7
P2=5.61 watt

P3=3.3 x 1.7
P3=5.61watt

PT=3.3+5.61+5.6
PT=14.52 watts
Exercise 2: For all trial of Run2, when ammeter readings do not show the reading in the other resistor. In
trail 1, AA=I4 ; R5 & R6 are not yet part of the circuit. In trial 2, AA=I5 ; I4=A5 - A6. In trial 3, AA= I6 ; AB AA =
I4 + I5. Using the value of I4 in trial 1 deterime I5. Using the value of I5 in trial 2 determine I4.
