INT. EMBASSY DINING ROOM. NIGHT
The dining room is empty and partially set up, a free
standing board sits next to the door announcing an embassy
dinner the next evening.

CATWOMAN emerges from the shadows at the rear of the room

holding a BASTET STATUE. She scans the room for any sign of
life before taking a moment to admire the statue.
CATWOMAN runs her hand down the statue as a smile curls on
her face.
CATWOMAN
(voice over)
Its easy to see why they worshipped
you. You truly are beautiful.

CATWOMAN is pulled out of her moment by a noise, she snaps

her head up searching for the source.
CATWOMAN feels a sting in her neck, clasps her hand over it
then slowly tumbles to the floor. She was hit with a small
dart in the back of her neck.
CATWOMAN loses consciousness.

INT. EMBASSY DINING ROOM. NIGHT.

When CATWOMAN wakes she is bound to a dining chair, her gear

along with the Statue is sitting on a table at the edge of
darkness. CATWOMAN quickly realises she is not alone.
CATWOMAN
You’re gonna be real sorry you
drugged me, and even more sorry you
stole from me.
TALIA AL GHUL moves through the shadows barely seen by
CATWOMAN.
TALIA AL GHUL
Stealing from a thief is considered
justice in Gotham is it not?

CATWOMAN
Oh, its you. Should have recognised
your stink as soon as you got off
the plane.

(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (2) 2.

TALIA AL GHUL
Such hatred in your voice, this
isn’t over a man is it? I’ve moved
on since then my dear, I’m purely
driven by work these days.

CATWOMAN
So the assassin has turned thief? I
doubt anyone would buy that, it
took long enough to accept your
brat of a son as a hero. You’ll
never be anything more than a blade
in the shadows.
TALIA AL GHUL
My my this cat does have claws, I
could fix that for you.

A SWORD is unsheathed in the darkness by an unseen figure.

CATWOMAN
I don’t scare easily.

TALIA AL GHUL
No you don’t, you also don’t take
hints very well. You were warned
about taking this statue, Mr
Cobblepot is on my pay roll and he
made it perfectly clear that you
should stay away. I haven’t killed
you yet because I’m willing to give
you a chance.
CATWOMAN
Oh how sweet.
TALIA AL GHUL
You have interfered with my work,
that will not happen again. This
city prefers its creatures of the
air, not street vermin like you, no
one would mourn your disappearance,
no one worships this cat.
TALIA AL GHUL picks up the statue taking it into the
shadows.

TALIA AL GHUL (cont’d)

Do no worry, I’ll keep it safe. I
trust we wont see you again.
TALIA AL GHUL disappears into the shadow leaving CATWOMAN
still tied to the chair.

INT. EMBASSY DINING ROOM. LATER THAT NIGHT.

CATWOMAN has freed herself from her bindings and has
collected her gear from the table.
CATWOMAN
(voice over)
Like Father like daughter I
suppose, not one to be trusted, but
also not one to be feared. Peel
away the countless guards and the
spared no expense education and all
you’re left with is a frightened
little girl trying to make a name
for herself. No one muscles in on
my patch without a fight. There’s a
reason I’m the best, it takes a lot
more than brining up an old flame
to throw me off my game. Gotham is
my city, its rooftops are my play
ground and its contents are for me
to take.

CATWOMAN exits the building through an open fire escape.

CATWOMAN (cont’d)
(voice over)
Now its time to rescue a goddess.

END.
