SUMMARY ABOUT TWO DAYS FACULTY DEVELOPMENT ON

PRODUCT DESIGN WITH AUTODESK TOOLS

Mechanical Engineering Department, UIET KUK along with VINSYS IT Ltd., Delhi Organized a Two Days
Faculty Development Program on 7th and 8th November 2015 on Product design with Autodesk tools for
Faculties of Engineering Institutions in and around Kurukshetra University.

Mr. Manjeet Bohat Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Dept. of UIET KUK and Ms. Gayatri Raghu,
Regional Manager - North & East India, Autodesk Education, VINSYS IT Ltd. Coordinated the program during
these two days.
Following were the Focus points the event targeted to achieve:

- Empowering Educators to prepare students for successful careers in Manufacturing and construction
industry.
- To Hear from Industrial experts on latest Design Trends and Opportunities.
- Expose Educators and Students to advance Digital Technologies used in Mechanical and Civil
Engineering Sectors.

Todays product design and manufacturing companies are faced with increased competitive and growing
market demands. The Product design course provided hands on experience on how modern technologies can
improve the product development cycle. The program focused on the different stages of the product
development cycle with a consistent workshop project used throughout. The course started with the ideation
initial phase of development and concluded with completing a project with AUTODESK tools.
Around 30 participants from all around the state and other parts of the country participated and benefited
out of this program.
SUMMARY ABOUT THREE DAYS TRAINING WORKSHOP ON
COMPUTER NETWORKING

Mechanical Engineering Department, UIET KUK Organized a three Days in house Training workshop on
COMPUTER NETWORKING from 26/10/2016 to 28/10/2016 for students of Engineering in UIET,
Kurukshetra University.

The main learning outcomes targeted during the program were:

Identify and describe the various components of a computer network


Explain how the Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) model works to simplify networking
Identify and compare the different networking topologies
Select appropriate cabling and connection options
Configure a wireless network using basic security features
Compare and contrast peer-to-peer networking with the client-server model
Identify the hardware and software components that make up a local area network (LAN)
Identify the hardware and software components that make up a wide area network (WAN)
Understand and configure the TCP/IP protocol including planning and implementation
Understand the concept of resource sharing and apply it in your network
Understand the fundamentals of network security and practice with network
Hands on practice of networking of various computers in a lab for running CAD software based on
Network Licence working on client and server configuration.

Mr. Manjeet Bohat Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Dept. of UIET KUK and Dr. Sunil Dhingra ,
Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Dept. of UIET KUK acted as convener and co-convener
respectively for the workshop. Ms. Deepti , Network Engineer ,UIET KUK and Mr. Deepak Sharma, Technical
Assistant provided the hands on training to about 30 Engineering students in the workshop. Mr. Upender
Dhull, Faculty Incharge Mech. Engg. Dept. Coordinated the whole program.
