DO YOU AGREE WITH THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT: PARENTS SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR

THE CRIMES OF THEIR CHILDREN?

Do you think something is more important for a society than children education? In
the last year crimes increased in 90%. Many of them children were involved or helped, but
our laws dont punish them because they are under 18. For this I definitely agree that
parents should be punished for the crimes of their children.

First, because parents are the first people that a child gets to know after he or she
is born. Parents spend the most time with their children while they are young too. We
have to change our mind that in schools our children will learn moral or manners, instead
they learn math or biology. The last Harvard psychologist study confirms that moral
compass is greatly influenced by the parents behavior and character. It is a fact that if you
have rude parents you will have problems with their children.

Furthermore, parent behavior has a legal consequence. When a child commits a

crime, sometimes it is under the influence by factors like violent games or movies. Our
laws establish that parents behavior must be restricted to prevent the young be exposed
to such violence. If these children started playing such violent games from a young age,
there is a possibility that these children will eventually learn their behaviors from the
games and display such violence in their lives, according to our laws if an adult (not
necessary the parent) helps or permits this, he has at least an economical punish. A real
example of this situation is the game of blue whale.

Finally, parents have a moral responsibility with their children. Parents are the
"leaders" of their children. Parents should watch over their children and teach them how
life works. If they do not teach well, their children might just ignore their parents. For
example, if a parent starts saying bad words, their children might follow from their parents
behavior. Bulling in our children starts because we dont think that our children can do
this, but they follow us and many times they are mirror of our believes and behaviors. Do
you remember that child fought a classmate in the best Santa Cruz school?

In conclusion, I agree with the following statement: parents should be punished for
the crimes of their children for systemic, legal and moral reasons, should you? We dont
much time, we have to do something now and well.
