Aiming to be the central hub of recent female music
driven events spreading throughout Brazil, the music, business and technology platform Womens Music Event is launching a website packed with female driven content, and a first ever round of events in So Paulo, Brazil2 days of conferences, workshops, concerts, and DJ sets in March of 2017.
The platforms main purpose is to celebrate and
promote equality for women in the music industry, so that their voices may be heard in what is still a male dominated show business niche. By spotlighting women that already work in this so called masculine universe Womens Music Event aims to inspire women who had not trusted they could turn music into their main profession.
The platform came to life early December 2016 with
the launch of its website, filled with columns, features, interviews, playlists curated by female artists, and the web series WME Sessions with a cozy and exclusive concert by native So Paulo singer and songwriter Tssia Reis, who recently released her first album, the exquisite Outra Esfera.
The website also features tools such as a worldwide
womens events calendar and a market oriented database of female professionals in the music industry from DJs to audio engineers, music journalists to bookers the whole professional chain. An interactive tool to serve the community as a bulletin board, and for the music industry who will no longer have excuses for not finding female professionals to balance out their staff, therefore creating an inclusive social and economical impact in the music industry.
The next launch phase is set for March 2017 in So
Paulo, when the conferences and concerts of the Womens Music Event will be held.
Daytime events (panels, networking meetings,
workshops and showcases) will take place at the Biblioteca Mario de Andrade, a striking venue in downtown So Paulo. In total, around 50 women, from CEOs to artists, are expected to speak throughout 12 panels and 6 workshops.
Womens Music Event nighttime programming will
consist of one night of electronic music with Brazilian and international DJs and producers gathered for an unmissable and empowering celebration in one of the cities busiest clubs; and one night of concerts, ranging from experimental to pop. The line-up will be revealed early 2017.
