PSP Update Game plan

Proliant Support Pack Update:

1. Login to Server via TS or RDP

2. Open up the teaming software (HP Network Configuration Utility on HP boxes,
Broadcom teaming on HS20 IBM Blades and Intel teaming on HS40 Blades) Verify the
network adapters used and how they are configured in the team. Record these settings
for use later in this process. (For example: network adapters 1 and 3 are in an automatic
load balancing team and are set to 100 Full Duplex).
3. Copy the .bat file that matches the server OS locally and run from the target server:
\\MTGBAZTM001\E$\Software\Server_Software\HP\
a. Note: this batch file creates a temporary admin acct called IBSSTEMP and
copies PSP file from network to server locally in folder
4. Log out of TS or RDP session/connection
5. Login to RILOE/II or ILO, open remote console and login to server via local account
IBSSTEMP (Password will be provided separately)
6. Once logged into server, RUN c:\temp\IBSS-psp\setupex.exe - PSP software Update
(accept any defaults to complete the install)
7. If the install hangs for an extended period of time, please see the note below
8. Once the PSP install completes, reboot the server
9. Log in to server with AD-ENT account through the Remote Console session. If unable to
connect with AD-ENT, use local account IBSSTEMP
10. Log on with AD-ENT account and verify normal server operation.
11. Open up the teaming software (HP Network Configuration Utility on HP boxes,
Broadcom teaming on HS20 IBM Blades and Intel teaming on HS40 Blades) Verify the
correct network adapters are used and in the correct team type. Also verify the
speed/duplex is correct per step 2 above.
12. Verify the IP settings match. IP settings can be found here:
\\mtgbaztm001\e$\Documentation\PSP\%computername%.txt
13. Verify IP traffic can travel outside of the server and off the subnet (ping a server off the
subnet, good server to use is one of the DNS servers).
14. If all checks out ok remove the IBSSTEMP account from local admin and then delete the
account from the local users group.Log out of server
15. Use the recovery plan below to restore network functionality if local login was required
