HOW TO USE KRISALIS OPAC:

STEP 1:

Log on to Perpustakaan Hamdan Tahir (www.pustaka.kk.usm.my) official website.

STEP 2:

Click KRISALIS OPAC.

STEP 3:

You can start a basic search by clicking the basic tab and entering your search term in the search box.
Next, press Enter or click Search.

Basic search consists of:

i. Keyword - Any word or phrase. Phrase examples: pain relief, child abuse.
ii. Title - Search by the title.
 iii. Author - Search by the author name. Last name, first name; capitalization not
necessary.
iv. Subject - Search by the controlled vocabulary search
v. ISBN - Search by International Standard Book Number.
vi. Series - Search by the book series.
vii. Call number - Search by National Library of Medicine call number or Library of
Congress call number.

STEP 4:

You also can use either basic search or advance search. Click Advanced Search and you will be
directed to the advanced search interface in KOHA system.

STEP 5:

Supposed you want to find materials regarding Uncover child abuse in the world. You will select the
key words/phrase child abuse and enter them into the search box then click Search or press Enter.

STEP 6:

There 395 results display for child abuse, user can choose the resource they interested regarding to
their research.

STEP 7:

For examples user choose to click Child abuse/Lucinda Almond. User can click on the title to get full
information.

STEP 8:

The item details will only be viewable after you have selected a title from the search result list as
mentioned above. Based on the details, one of items located in PHT and user can browse on the
bookshelves using call number WA320 C536l 2006.

Step 9:

Info tips, be aware that entering to many words in the search box may returns no results.
