The Use of Informasi and Communication Technology

for Education in Indonesia

 At first people acquire knowledge in a way that can not be trusted. But slowly sesiring with
the changing times, one begins to use the technology. With the ability and intellect of man
wants to get out of trouble, wants to live better, more secure, easy, and convenient.
Technological developments occur because someone uses his wits and intelligence capabilities
to resolve any problems that it faces.

Information and communication technology is something that is familiar to the community.

Information and Communication Technology at the present time plays an important role, both
in the field of education, economy, social, culture, geography, religion, and also a variety of
other fields. Information and Communication Technology is a matter that can be used as a
means to show the progress of country. Information and Communication Technology is seen as
something that can be picked up the image of the nation, the countries in the world vying to
advance the technology, information and komunikasi.Di Indonesia, a growing number of
students, professors, scientists and others participate in developing Information and
Communication Technology in Indonesia.

Information Technology is a technology used for data processing, including processing,

obtain, compile, store, manipulate data in different ways to produce quality information, the
information is relevant, accurate and timely, which is used for personal, business, and
governance and a strategic information for decision making. This technology uses a computer
to process the data, the network system to connect one computer to another computer as
needed, and telecommunications technology is used so that the data can be distributed and
accessed globally. Meaning of information technology for education should mean availability of
channels or means that can be used to broadcast educational programs.

Utilization of information technology in education is already a thing biasa.Peran can the

application of this technology is to get information for personal life such as information about
health, hobbies, recreation, and spiritual. Then for professions such as science, technology,
commerce, business news, and professional associations. Means of cooperation between
individuals or groups with one person or a group of others without knowing the distance and
time, country, race, economic class, ideology or other factors that may inhibit exchange ideas.
If the first person a distance of thousands of miles to obtain information accurately, can now be
reached in just a few seconds via the Internet. We can communicate with friends, family and
very much just by phone. In this globalization era, everything is required to be very practical,
fast, and accurate, then the required facilities and infrastructure that can meet the terms,
including the presence of an information and communication technology that is able to serve
and fulfill it. With the growing global human need for information and communication, it is
expected to community information and communication technology can be used as follows:

1. Supplementary facilities and maid in a process of running a fast-paced and precise.

2. Tools to retrieve, process, store, and present information quickly, accurately, and
efficiently.

3. Reference materials of various aspects of the activities and able to provide data display
that suits your needs.

4. Information and communication technology is a vehicle for learning and the delivery of
educational material quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

Information and communication technologies today are growing rapidly Therefore

kehidupan.Manusia facilitate information can not be separated from the actual education is
also an activity of information, even with pendidikanlah information science and technology
can be disseminated to the next generation of a nation.
As a medium of communication education done using communication media such as
telephone, computer, internet, e-mail, etc. Interaction between teachers and students is not
only done through face-to-face but also performed using these media. Given today's
information technology teachers can provide services without having to deal directly with
students. Similarly, students can obtain information in a wide range of different sources
through cyber space or virtual space by using a computer or the internet. The most recent is the
development of so-called "cyber-teaching" or virtual teaching, the teaching process is carried
out by using the internet. Another term that is increasingly poluper current e-learning is a
model of learning by using media and information communication technology, especially the
Internet. E-learning is the use of Internet technology in the delivery of learning within reach.As
mentioned above, information technology-based education tend to no longer depend on space
and time. There was no significant impediment to carrying out teaching and learning activities
across the region, even across the country through e-learning. With e-learning teachers and
students are no longer always have to be face to face in a classroom at a time
bersamaan.Dengan it is not dependent on space and time, e-learning has another advantage
that allows access to experts uninterrupted time and was not cost expensive. A student in the
area can learn directly from the experts at the center through internet chat facility or
accommodate realtime voice and even images. With e-learning, school-sekloah can easily
conduct mutually beneficial cooperation through partnership programs. Thus the more
advanced schools can help schools that have not been developed so that it can be pursued their
equity educational quality. One more advantage of e-learning course is ketesediaan abundant
information from sources around the world. By using the Internet as a medium of learning will
get the resources for the enrichment of the huge numbers no matter terbatas.Model e-learning
with all the advantages of the above will greatly help the education in Indonesia. E-learning can
be an alternative way of improving the quality of Indonesian education and equity efforts
throughout Indonesia.
It is common knowledge that the quality spread evenly pendidikian in Indonesia yet. There
are quite a distance gap between one region to another. Education on the island of Java and
Sumatra (Indonesia western) cederung rely more advanced than the eastern part of Indonesia.
Such disparities should get serious attention from the government. E-learning can be a creative

horizons and enrich the diversity of subject knowledge, and improve the effectiveness of

 Currently, the computer is no longer a luxury, this tool has been used in various fields of
work as well as in the field of education. At first computers used in schools as a support for the
smooth administration of field work using the software Microsoft word, excel and access. With
the inclusion of the material Information and Communication Technology in the new
curriculum, the role of computers as a key component in ICT has a very important position as a
medium of learning. Using Information and Communication Technology, students will quickly
get ideas and experiences from various circles. The addition of the ability of the students due to
the use of Information and Communication Technology will develop an attitude of initiative and
self-learning abilities, so that students can decide and consider for themselves when and where
the use of Information and Communication Technology optimal.Secara appropriately and
specific objectives of the study is the Information and Communication Technology:
a. Attention to the potential development of information and communication technology
are constantly changing so that students can be motivated to evaluate and study the
Information and Communication Technology as a basis for lifelong learning
b. Motivating the students' ability to adapt to and anticipate the development of
Information and Communication Technology, so that students can carry out the
activities of daily life and to live independently and be confident
c. Developing student competence in using ICT to support learning activities, work, and
activities in daily life
d. Developing study skills-based Information and Communication Technology, so that the
learning process can be optimized, compelling, and encourage students Archived by PLS

e. Developing self-learning ability, initiative, innovative, creative, and responsible in the

It is known that the Internet originated from educational and research institutions in the
United States. Before the advent of the internet, the main problem dihadapioleh education
(worldwide) is akseske resources. Conventional library is a source of information that is not
cheap. Management of the good is not easy, so many places in various locations around the
world (including in the Western world) do not have a complete library. The existence of the
Internet allows access to the resources that are available a lot. In other words, the problem of
access should not be a problem anymore. The Internet can be considered as a very large
resources. Any field that interests you, there is information in internet.Di Indonesia, the scarcity
of conventional resources (library) is more severe than elsewhere. The existence of the internet
is one of the ultimate solution to this problem. Internet eliminates the boundaries of space and
time allowing a student to communicate with experts in other places to discuss a problem.
Currently this can be done with the exchange of data via the internet, via email, or file Sharring
dengnan mechanisms. Students anywhere in Indonesia can access the expert or the best
professor in Indonesia and even in the world

IMPACT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

The development of information and communication technology is rapidly increasing it is

important for the sake of improved teriptanya a life that goes with safe, comfortable, and
peaceful. As for the impact that will result from the development of information and
communication technology are as follows:

a). Positive Impact,

(1) Channels of information and communication becomes more rapid, precise, and accurate.
(2) Human activity becomes more fluent and fulfilled.
(3) The learning activities will be more effective efficient and enjoyable because of the
technology that helps.
(4) The Internet makes it easier for students to obtain materials for the task.

b). Negative Impact

(1) The amount of information we receive often make us difficult to choose priorities and
determine the truth of the information.
(2) Teknologii internet that could be misused to access porn sites.
(3) facebook cause lazy.
(4) The more information we show and share the Internet with or without us knowing who
opened the opportunities for abuse by parties who are not authorized. (eg, Facebook,
Friendster, Twitter, and others.

so, the development of information and communication tegnologi has many benefits for
humans this globalization era, which is required for fast-paced. The development of science and
technology can be used for just about anything and not only negative things are visible, but also
gained a lot of positive things and beneficial to human life. Advances in technology is something
we can not avoid in life, because of advances in technology will be run in accordance with the
progress of science. Information and communication technology is a vehicle for learning and
the delivery of educational material quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Viewed from the

technological advances, the government of a country must make regulations or under an
international convention to be followed by users of the technology. In addition, the
government must also provide understanding and appeal to the whole community to pay

provocative.
