Title: Sets Length of Unit 3 weeks
Summary of Unit
In this unit, students will study set notation and how to use Venn Diagrams to display a range of
information. They will model real life siuations and make inferences based upon their diagrams.


How will progress be measured?
Students will be given a short pre-topic quiz which focuses on prior learning
and skills. This is to inform planning and feedback will not shared at an
Diagnostic Assessment:
individual level.

Students will be formatively assessed throughout the unit based on classwork
Formative Assessment: and homework. Students will also explore investigations, modelling and ICT
extensions.
Students will be given a formal unit assessment that incorporates application
of the skills learned. Performance in this will be used in conjunction with
Summative Assessment:
progress identified during the unit when considering a final summative level.
