a. I added four words: magma, lava, in situ, and freeze-thaw weathering to the Glossary,
which Dean Smith noted during our trip to Elephant Rocks.

b. Added entry of my topic of concentration for this semester: herons, bitterns, and egrets
of Missouri (outline of the page).

c. Added five words from the first reading about Cahokia Mounds to the glossary: biotic
potential, megafauna, niche construction, resilience, transplanting.
I also removed the Glossary tag that linked to a page with only the first two words and
made the format of all the words consistent (added a period to definitions that didnt have
a period).
d. Added a bio of myself in the Explorers page under Class of 2020.

e. Added 2016-2017 heading to Pictures to create a space where we can start uploading
photos.

3. List the significant additions that youve made to the MNH page.

a. I added twelve words relating to volcanoes in the glossary, using my notes from the
article about Missouris Volcanoes as well as the vocabulary list we compiled in class
(before our trip with Dean Smith): ash-fall tuffs, ash flow tuffs, flood scar, granite,
igneous rock, lava flow rock, Missouri Division of Geology and Land Study, metamorphic
rock, pyroclastic flow, rhyolite, sedimentary rock, volcanic caldera.

b. Wrote article and added page in Field Guides, Guide to Studying Geologic Rock in the
Field, based on what Dean Smith taught us during our trip to Elephant Rocks and
Johnsons Shut-Ins. Five tips/steps to take and explanations of why they are significant
aspects of the rock.
