Position Description
Project Summary: The Restorative Neighborhood Network (RNN) in St. Paul will promote the
understanding and use of restorative practices (RP) among young people, the adults in their lives,
and the systems that shape their lives. The project is anchored in two St. Paul high schools that
are in the process of implementing RP in their buildings. The RNN extends that learning beyond
the school buildings by engaging and educating families, youth leaders, neighbors, faith leaders,
business owners and public servants in the goal of creating peaceful, equitable, and safe
communities. The RNN coordinator will build relationships in the community, collaborate with
school personnel, conduct outreach and coordinate trainings and other learning opportunities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Outreach to stakeholders connected to the Johnson and Como Park schools, and in
surrounding neighborhoods, including families, youth leaders, neighbors, faith leaders,
business owners and public servants.
- Communicate and collaborate with administrators and key personnel at JHS and CPSHS
to plan community engagement events, RJ information sessions and trainings
opportunities.
- Deliver information sessions and presentations about restorative practices at school
events and other community settings.
- Coordinate circle trainings and other restorative practices trainings and recruit training
participants, collaborate with school personnel to recruit parents and others connected to
the school.
- Develop and conduct evaluations to track program outcomes; collect data at events and
trainings; assemble program reports.
- Participate in additional training opportunities in restorative practices and conflict
resolution; attend community events and networking events as needed.
- Provide general organizational support as needed, including fundraising, data entry and
general outreach.
Other Information:
- The Restorative Neighborhood Network Coordinator is funded by a grant through the
F.R. Bigelow Foundation over a period from August 2017 to July 2018.
- The position works under the supervision of DRCs Manager of Programs and Services
- The Coordinator will often work outside of the DRC office meeting with school
personnel, delivering outreach presentation, and developing partnerships with service
providers and community organizations.
- .5 to .75 FTE position with a salary or contract in the $15,000-$25,000 range, DOE.

mediation program established in 1982 to provide mediation, facilitation, training, and referral services
to residents of the East Metro area of the Twin Cities. The mission of Dispute Resolution Center is to
promote the constructive resolution of conflict through open communication and shared decision-making.
