Data Administrator

Job Description
The Data Administrator is a temporary, part-time contract position (Sept 18 November 10,2017) that
provides data, technology, and organizing aid to Win/Win staff and our network. This 20 hour a week
position will work closely with our network partners and allies from Washington States progressive
community to help increase civic participation and the use of data and best practices for building
political change.

Win/Win supports a network of progressive organizations coming together to advance racial, social, and
economic equity across Washington through civic and political engagement. We provide strategic
coordination, data and research, and individual technical assistance to increase our collective ability to
create change.

Win/Win envisions a new political landscape that inspires people; where individuals are engaged because
they see themselves and their values reflected across our democracy. We focus on big picture
opportunities to collaborate across organizational siloes on shared goals that will address systemic
disparities, increase community power, and advance wins that truly impact peoples lives. Win/Win
Network and Win/Win Action are affiliated 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) entities.

Our partners around the table represent a broad spectrum of interests and constituencies: labor, the
environment, womens health and rights, LGBT rights and equality, economic and social justice,
communities of color and immigrant rights, and direct service providers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


VAN Administration (70%)
Administer a statewide voter file (the VAN) for multiple partner organizations and campaigns to
ensure they are utilizing VAN at maximum capacity for voter registration, voter contact, and
community engagement campaigns. Respond to multiple partner requests to keep programs
running efficiently and effectively.
Provide technical assistance to partner organizations in their efforts to run voter engagement
activities. This includes coordinating volunteer recruitment, set up, leading and monitoring of
predictive dialer phone banks and door-to-door canvassing using mini-VAN.

VAN Trainings (20%)

Provide group trainings and individualized support to partner organizations around the state
using VAN on best practices in voter file usage, my campaign, and voter contact tools.

Other Administrative Duties (10%)


Assist Data Director with County Matchbacks (voters who have turned in their ballot into the
VAN).
Keep our technology tools, computers, ipods, chrome books updated and manage our
technology library program for partners.
Scan partner voter registration and pledge to vote forms for data entry services.
Additional duties may be assigned within the course of the work.

Experience & Skills

Candidate must have an understanding of common direct voter contact programs and at least
one cycle of experience in the use of the VAN in candidate or issue-based campaigns.
Strong Excel skills and a willingness and aptitude to learn new technical skills.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work some irregular hours, including nights and some
on call hours during the weekend as well as travel as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively, work well under pressure, be detail-oriented, and meet
deadlines.
1-2 years field experience in a volunteer or staff capacity.
Strong commitment to building power among underrepresented communities through
authentic collaboration and relevant engagement tactics.
Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Position is based in downtown Seattle.

Compensation
This is a temporary, contract position requiring 20 hours a week from September 18 to November 10,
2017. The total contract $4,000 total.
