1. It is a program covers from kinder garden up to grade 12 or senior high school.

It provides enough
time for mastery of subject and skills. It is also to prepare students before they enter tertiary or
college degree.
2. I think k-12 curriculum is better than the old curriculum. Most countries have this kind of curriculum
already and they are more advanced than us. Those who are graduated or have finished a 10 year
basic education (RBES) may not be acknowledged in some countries. This new curriculum really
prepares the students before they work.
3. I think we are following the teachers guide or manual inside the classroom. Aside from teaching the
lessons, we also provide more activities that will improve our pupils skills on different things we
make sure that they will get enough time to learn and use the learning in real life situation.

4. It is a new program that was implemented (a) few years ago. In this curriculum, it is required to enter
in kinder garden first for them to be ready in formal education, from kinder garden up to grade 3.
The lessons are being taught using the mother tongue which will help the pupil to have a better
understanding also of the lessons. The subject or language English and Filipino are gradually
introduced in elementary, then mastery of it in junior high school (also with other subject). In this
curriculum, they also added 2 more years in high school which is called senior high school this level
will let the students to choose which one to specialize based on their skills, this two years, will help
them to become ready before entering college. The k-12 curriculum also focuses in spiral
progression.

5. RBEC- is the old curriculum here in the Philippines. It only has 10 years of education and entering
kinder garden, is not yet a requirement for them. For me, the new curriculum which is the k-12 is
the better one to be used here. Considering that our country is composed of 7,107 islands with
different regions, culture and dialects. This k-12 program will help us to have a better understanding
of lessons through our mother tongue language first. This program also not focusing in their mastery
of academic skills. In this generation, concepts are not enough to become better in entering work.
We need to become skillful also through practical experiences which the new curriculum provides
for us, is known as vocational course. When it comes to learning some concepts, the new curriculum
helps the students to have a better understanding of it by teaching the lessons in easiest and not
complex way in first few years in elementary, then as they enter to the next level, the lesson will be
taught again but the difficulty increases.

6. Yes, in our school, we have here core competency checklist which serves as our manual or guide
on which lessons needs mastery (core competency). Although this manual focuses more in English
and math, it is also being used in other subjects.
