On Death Penalty

The answer to this is simple. No. No for many reasons but mainly because of the fact that death penalty is no different
than the act of murder itself. The only difference is the consent / approval of those who deem a crime as unforgivable.
The existence of death penalty does not have any effect on the amount of crimes committed or even the gravity of the
crimes people are willing to commit. Moreover, criminals who are jailed are already willing to die for their crimes and
killing them may or not be their easy way out.

But the idea extends beyond that, capital punishment or death penalty is also viewed as an act of revenge. The law in
fact should not be based upon emotions and instinct but in reality should be founded on logic and principles. Although
people might view jail time as unfair compared to losing something / someone or to whatever crime was committed,
there is always another alternative such as rehab or public service. It is a given fact that there is no turning back from
death but this also applies to both sides of a criminal case.

Another issue is this countrys justice system. It being a weak system on its own makes it apparent that the country is
not ready to give capital punishment. It is irresponsible and can be manipulated into many more unethical acts. There
are too many flaws in our system; one being it always in favor of the influential. The importance of due process and
equality is indeed an important system this country needs to understand more.

Theres more to this than just being a yes or no. It is really an idea based on logical decisions and genuine concern for
humanity itself. In the end one thing is clear: death penalty is another law that violates human rights and is a crime of its
own one way or another.
