Notification for Coaching for Civil Services (I.A.S., I.P.S., etc.,)

Preliminary Examination 2018

Applications are invited from candidates of Tamil Nadu, desirous to undergo coaching for UPSC Civil
Services Preliminary Examination 2018. Coaching will be conducted at the ALL INDIA CIVIL SERVICES
COACHING CENTRE, CHENNAI28. Those who have already undergone coaching in this Institute under
regular stream for Preliminary Examination should not apply AGAIN.

1. ELIGIBILITY:
a) Minimum Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a degree of any recognized university
and should completed the same in 10 + 2 + 3 pattern
b) Age Limit (as on 182018, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1986 and not
later than 1st August 1997).
Minimum: 21 years for all candidates
Maximum: 32 years for General Candidates
The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable
i. upto a maximum of five years if candidates belongs SC / SCA / ST

ii.upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to BC / BCM / MBC / DNC.

iii. upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of Differentlyabled candidates

Note:
Candidates claiming reservation under this category should possess certificate in prescribed format from
the competent authority.
All Certificates should have been obtained prior to the last date for submission of filledin application
announced in the advertisement published in Newspapers

3. Procedure to apply
a) Online mode:
In order to register online (FREE OF COST) for the entrance examination for AICSCC (Preliminary)
Examination 2018, the candidate has to visit the website www.civilservicecoaching.com.
Read carefully the instructions given herein and click Apply Now.
The registration page opens up wherein, the candidate has to fillin the online application form.

b) Off line mode (OMR application FREE OF COST)
The applicants from districts other than Chennai can receive their applications from the District
Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Office at the District Collectorates, on all working days,
giving proof of their age and educational qualification. Application duly filled in may be submitted
to the same office.
Candidates from Chennai can receive and submit their duly filled in application from the following

The candidates are advised to apply through any one of the modes only. If they apply in both
the modes, the application will be summarily rejected.

 4. Entrance Examination Centres: Chennai, Cuddalore, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Erode, Madurai, Salem,
Sivagangai, Thanjavur, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Vellore and Villupuram (Choose any one of the
Centres)

5. Hall Ticket
The Hall Tickets to the eligible candidates will be uploaded ONLY at AICSCC website
www.civilservicecoaching.com on 20.10.2017. Candidates are advised to download the same and
take a printout and bring it to the examination centre without fail.
Note: HALL TICKET WILL NOT BE DISPATCHED THROUGH POST. TO DOWNLOAD THE HALL TICKET;

6. Entrance Examination:
Eligible candidates will have to appear for the Written Competitive Examination (objective type) for two
hours 10.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m on 05.11.2017 (Sunday). The question paper will consists of 100 objective
type with multiplechoice questions on the following subjects; History of India and Indian National
Movement, India and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development,
General Science, Current Events and General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and Climate
change. The candidates are required to answer the questions in the OMR answer sheet provided, by
shading a single answer for each question in blue or black ballpoint pen only. No TA / DA shall be paid
for attending the Entrance Examination.

7. Entrance Examination Results:
(i) Tentative key answers for the entrance examination will be published on 06.11.2017 in ALL

INDIA CIVIL SERVICES COACHING CENTRE website www.civilservicecoaching.com and candidates

are advised to submit their representation if any on tentative key answers along with relevant
authoritative proof upto 12.11.2017, 5:30 pm.
(ii) Any objections raised beyond the stipulated time will not be considered.

(iii) On consideration of such objections, final key answers would be published and the same would be

final.
(iv) The results will be published in the Notice Board at ALL INDIA CIVIL SERVICES COACHING

CENTRE, CHENNAI 600028 on 15.11.2017 and also at www.civilservicecoaching.com

8. Procedure of Selection:
The list of provisionally selected candidates for coaching for UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary)
Examination2018 will be published in the Notice Board at ALL INDIA CIVIL SERVICES COACHING
CENTRE, CHENNAI 600 028 and at www.civilservicecoaching.com
The provisionally selected candidates in each category will be called for admission will be intimated
through online only.

9. The number of seats allotted for the different categories for Full time (Residential) and Part time (Non

10. Fees:
(a) Candidates selected for FullTime (Residential) belonging to Other Community will have to pay a
tuition fee of Rs. 1000/ for preliminary coaching.
Classes will be conducted between 10.00 a.m and 5.00 p.m.
(b) Candidates selected for PartTime (Non Residential) streams are not eligible for hostel accommodation
and will have to pay a nominal tuition fee of Rs. 3,000/ for the preliminary coaching. PartTime classes
will be conducted on Week days between 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. and between 10.30 a.m and 5.30p.m on
Saturdays & Sundays.

11. Hostel:
Candidates selected for the Residential Stream will be eligible for free Boarding and Lodging.
