You are expected to bring a pen, paper, a notebook and organizer such as a school agenda, and any relevant
materials every class. A notebook is required as you will be taking notes and adjudications for all class
presentations.

MISSED WORK:
It is expected that students complete all assigned work in a timely manner. Students who are absent on the day
of an assessment (e.g. test or presentation) or when an assignment is due, must speak with their teacher when
they return to make arrangements to complete the required work. Whenever possible, students will inform their
teacher in advance of their absence.

Each assessment will have a final date of submission after which it will no longer be graded. This date will be
clearly communicated to students by the teacher. Work that has not been submitted by the final due date will be
deemed incomplete for the purposes of grade reporting. Failure to complete all required work will negatively
impact a students final grade, and may prevent successful attainment of the credit.

Misunderstood Academic Offences include: Excessive collaboration, Plagiarism, Unauthorized use of previous
term's assignments, tests, solutions, Use of another student's previous assignment/test/solution, Theft of another

Parents/Guardians:

Communication is essential to student success. The WRDSB requires parents to give consent to email contact with a
teacher. Parents can give this by registering via the WRDSB consent webform which appears at the bottom of our ECI
website homepage: https://secure.wrdsb.ca/subscribe/

Please complete this in order to facilitate open communications between our class and your home.

Additionally, I use Remind as way to help parents and students know when assignments and important events are
happening. Instructions have been sent home in paper copy to help you set up your account in our voluntary system.
Communications come via email or text, whichever you select. You may unsubscribe to this service at any time.

Finally, my preferred forum for communications with you remains my work email. Please feel free to email at
Karen_lillie@wrdsb.ca

Looking forward to a great semester!
