What is density?

Density is a property that each object in the world has.

It is measured by taking the mass of something and
dividing by the volume of the same thing.

What is mass?

Everything in the world has mass.

Mass is the measure of how much matter something is
made up of.
The more matter something has, the more mass it has.
THIS IS NOT THE SAME THING AS WEIGHT!!!!

 What is Volume?

Volume is the measure of how much space an object takes up.

The more volume something has, the more space it takes up.
Volume is measured in milliliters (mL) which is the same as cubic
centimeters (3 ).
Some other units for volume are ounces (oz) and liters (l).
 When do I use Density?

We use the density formula when we

want to find the mass or volume of
unknown objects.
Sometimes were given the density
and mass, then asked to find the
volume. Or we could be given density
and volume and asked to find the
mass. Either way remember the
Density Triangle and youll never have
an issue solving dentistry problems.
What are the units for density?

Since the units for mass are grams (g) and units for
volume are cubic centimeters (3 ) we can determine
the overall units of density using the formula.
