The Importance of Forest Conservation

Forest the oldest and most diverse ecosystem, are important for their products. They also
keep soil fertile, ensure the supply of constant water under the ground, regulate the climate
and prevent floods.

Firstly, the leaves which have fallen to the ground become some kind of substance. This
substance which is called humus is a fertilizer to the soil. Humus holds rain water during the
wet season, stores it and then waters the fields in the dry season.

Secondly, thus the fields can produce more crops. For years many people havent been
obeying the governments regulations and have been cutting down the trees excessively. As a
result, thousands of hectares of what used to be good forest lands have become waste. These
people are not aware that without forest nothing prevents the water will wash away the soil to
the river. It may cause floods which will destroy the farmland and villages.

For all this reason, the state Minister of Development, Supervision and Environment has
consistently been trying to keep on asking our people to stop destroying the forest and
conducting the campaign for forest conservation.

WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

There is reason for the deepest concern about the plight of Wildlife in our country. Many rare
species are threatened with extinction because of the greed of hunters game collections.

Orangutan are rarely found in their natural habitat in the forest of Kalimantan and Sumatra,
but one may find them in zoo and private menageries all over the world. Ruthless hunters kill
innocent elephants for their valuable ivory tusks, or catch them alive to perform in circuses.
Tigers hides decorate walls and floors of rich peoples home in distant countries.

If things are allowed to continue in this way, it is feared that very soon all wildlife will
disappear from our forests. Fortunately, the government has now imposed strict law on
hunting. Some areas are designated wildlife reserves where hunters cannot enter. These
include Ujungkulon and Pangandaran in West Java, Merubetiri in East Java, and many more
in the other islands.

Some time ago our newspapers contained reports of elephants which had run amok in the
province of Lampung. They had emerged from their abode in the forest and destroyed crops
and houses belonging to the villagers. The people could not understand why the beasts had
suddenly gone wild. The strange thing was that the animals had not come for food, because
having wrought destruction they returned to the forest. They seemed to have come only to
vent their anger. As elephants are protected by law, the people could not kill any of them. The
explanation for the elephants strange behaviour is that they felt their quiet life had been
disturbed by the timber-felling projects and saw-mills set up deep in the forest. The animals
felt their domain was being narrowed by man, and so they got angry. Elephants need peace
and quiet for their family life. They also need vast areas of land in which to roam. They live
in herds, and each herd likes to have its own territory. Now the government has driven the
elephants back into the forests, away from any village or lumber-mill.

By shouting and shooting in the air, the people drove the great beasts to a new abode in the
district of Air Sugihan. It is hoped that they will feel at home there and can live in peace and
quiet.

The Importance of Electricity in Modern Life
We cant imagine living without electricity. Modern living could not go on without
electricity.
Most equipment used in modern life is designed to use electricity. If the electricity power is
off, aeroplanes wouldnt be able to take off, car engines wouldnt run, radio and television
broadcasts would stop. Besides, million of people mechanics, factory workers, pilots, etc
would lose their job, for they can work only of electricity is available.

Electricity is important for modern people in cities and countries. Nowadays the government
tries hard to modernize the people, not only in the cities but also in the countries. This is a
good wisdom. If people in cities or towns dont get food from people in the countries they
cant work well. On the other hand if people in the countries dont get supply, equipment and
services from people in the cities they cant work well either.

One of the government attempts to modernize the country people is by installing the power
plants to produce electricity to light country homes. By introducing electricity in the
countries, in the country people can enjoy television broadcast relayed by nearby relay
stations.

For that reasons, Electricity is undoubtedly one of the most important aids to modem living.

The Advantages of Gold Coin Investment As The Example of Analytical Exposition
Text
Gold has become a precious metal to mankind since it was the dawn of civilization. The
nature of gold is soft and malleable which people can make and easily change to any forms,
even it is done just by a simple technology. The beautiful golden and shiny color does not
easily fade out. The form of gold can be as jewelry, bar, or coin. Now days it becomes an
advantageous investment.
Gold is safe and profitable for investment. In uncertain situations, many people are turning to
gold because gold has a more stable value and regarded as currency without limitation assets.
It is secure and can be cashed out at any time we need. The gold values tend to be stable. It is
zero inflation effect. It is very rare that the gold prices fell. Even every year, the gold price
tends to increase.

Investments in the form of coins is famous as gold coin. It is more profitable if it is compared
with the investment gold in the form of jewelry. Gold coin, for example gold 401k which
some people call 401k gold, is very good when used as an alternative investment, whether it
is for the medium-term investment and long-term investment. Besides that gold coins need
less cost in production and manufacturing sot it is more lucrative than investing gold in the
form of jewelry.

Moreover, some people do not just think gold as an investment, but also as collections.
Because the character is a collection so the uniqueness and rareness are the point. There
might be coins that cost up to more than a million because of the history variables,
ownership, and perhaps an important event when the coin is launched.

From the reason above, if we decide to make an investment, it could be useful to consider
investing gold coin. It is really profitable.

The Disadvantages of Coal Mining

lobal warming, climate change and pollutionThese are only few of many environmental
concerns caused by burning of coal. Coal is a form of fossil fuel that is extracted from the
ground through mining. The goal of coal mining application is to generate electricity which is
good for development however this activity can result to adverse effects on our environment.

Coal burning or usage of coal to extract energy greatly contributes to what they call global
warming. This global warming involves greenhouse effect process by which radiative energy
leaving a planetary surface is absorbed by greenhouse gases thus warming the earths surface.
The reason why coal burning contributes to global warming is that coal emits greenhouse gases
such as carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and others. In some regions where
coal burning is abundant, it has caused acid rains which contaminate vegetation soil and
groundwater supply.

Aside from harmful emissions of coal burning, coal mining applications ruin forests and local
wildlife. Just take for example in the Cordillera Philippines, where coal mining activity is
mostly done in this region, the Cordillera forest that used to be watershed protecting the
Northern Luzon has been ruined by mining applications. Based on DENR-CAR (Department
of Environment and Natural Resources- Cordillera Administrative Region) data the regions
forest cover is now critically below 40% of the total land area of 1.8 million hectares. The ideal
forest cover should be 40% or higher of the land area. Moreover, according to elders in that
region, reforestation is even useless to save the watershed areas since these were now all
replaced by mining applications.
Yes, the coal mining applications may bring livelihood to the public however the return of this
activity to our environment and public health is worse than we could imagine. Mining industry
causes health difficulties for miners and fatalities due to the dangers of the work. Hazardous
wastes such as mercury and cyanide are only some of the toxic wastes of mining industry. If
not taken care of these toxic wastes could contaminate groundwater supply and vegetation
lands.

Air Pollution Dangers

Air pollution affects so much more than just the air we breathe. Everything living has a need
for clean, breathable air, from humans and animals, to plants and trees. These needs make
fighting air pollution a major priority for everyone, to help heal and protect our planet and
future.

Air pollution is a common issue among large cities, anywhere in the world. High volumes of
traffic, large industrial areas, and dense concentrations of people all contribute to the amount
of pollution in the area. The effects of air pollution reach around the globe, wreak havoc on
people, plants, and animals. Changes to air and water quality create dangerous and even deadly
situations. Here are just a few of the dangers of air pollution.

o Breathing polluted air can cause damage to the heart and lungs. Similar to the effects of
smoking tobacco, inhaling the particles in polluted air can cause people and animals to develop
heart and lung disease that could eventually prove fatal.

o Those with certain medical conditions may find that high levels of air pollution aggravate
their symptoms. People with asthma, allergies, and diseases resulting in breathing problems
are usually the worst affected.

o Plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen as their breathing process. When
pollutants are present in the air, plant life will breathe these particles in, as well. This causes
serious problems within the cells of the plant, resulting in poor growth and possibly death or
the plant.

o The residue from the chemicals and pollution in the air deposits itself onto plants, preventing
necessary photosynthesis from taking place. Without the ability to receive proper sunlight,
plants quickly discolor and die.

o The moisture in the atmosphere picks up the dangerous chemicals and pollutants in the air,
creating even further problems for the environment. The resulting acid rain can find its way
into ground water and other waterways, creating a dangerous situation for plants, animals and
humans alike.

Air pollution contributes to water and soil pollution that can be disastrous for all living
creatures.

Handphone is Important
Handphone is one of electronic technology in our life. Handphone have many function and
very important for our life. Almost all people in the world have handphone. And now, there is
some reason why handphone is important.
First, handphone can be used for communication. All people in the world know that it
is the basic function of handphone. With handphone, we can communicate with other people
although the long distance separated us. With handphone, communication will be easy. We can
talk with someone else around the world with handphone. If we dont want to talk with them,
we can send them information through SMS or short message. SMS is the acronym of Short
Message Service. In SMS, we cant talk-on, we only send a message.
Second, handphone comes in various facilities, such as camera, music player, video
player, dictionary, calculator, games, etc. With camera, we can take a lot of pictures and videos.
Those pictures and videos can memories us to the romantic, sadness, and also unforgettable
moments. We also take a picture and video just for fun. With handphone, we also can listening
music and watching video. With handphone too, we can search the meaning of a word and also
for calcute something. With handphone too, we can playing game. It can help us when we feel
bored. When we feel bored, we can playing game so we cant be bored again.
The last but not least, handphone can be used for browsing internet. With handphone,
we can search many information easly. And if we want to browsing internet, we dont need
computer to open it. With handphone, we can open the internet and search many information
that we need easily and fast.
Based on the above discussion, dont marvels if almost all people in the world have
handphone, because handphone is an electronic technology that very important for our life.

TV is Bad for Children

Television plays very important role in our lives, and it is also main source of entertainment.
We watch TV whenever we are free, or sometimes while working, and learn many things from
it. As the TV is used in our daily life, it broadcasts many live events and news which educate
us in many ways. But, sometimes children watch those programs on TV which should not
meant to be viewed by child's age group and have many negative impacts on their lives.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that kids under 2 years old not watch
any TV and that those older than 2 watch no more than 1 to 2 hours a day. The first 2 years of
life are considered a critical time for brain development. TV and other electronic media can get
in the way of exploring, playing, and interacting with parents and others, which encourages
learning and healthy physical and social development. As kids get older, too much screen time
can interfere with activities such as being physically active, reading, doing homework, playing
with friends, and spending time with family.

I believe that many children who watch TV for long hours, have many negative impacts on
their health such as they may weak their eye-sight at young age. In fact, these children should
spend most of their time playing and studying, which would give them better result later and
keep them healthy as well. If these children keep wasting their precious time watching TV for
long hours instead studying, it may affect their school result.

Many children tend to follow their favorite actors or actress and imitate them by wearing same
cloths, following same attitude and try to speak same languages. This becomes worse when
they watch any action movies and perform same actions at home, which might injure them or
change their behavior toward other people.

Television indeed can be a media to entertain and to teach children something. However,
programs in TV are not designed for children only; they also include some programs for adult.
Watching TV too much could make children following some clothes, attitudes, and language
which may be bad for them. Too much watching TV also will weaken children eyes. Thus,
watching TV too much is bad for children.
