Documentary What is Love Research

Historical Origins
6 millions years ago the earliest humans came about and love wasnt a concept back
then. Reproduction was the key element to human survival.
When we started to develop and evolve from our primitive selfs (around the time
the Neanderthals and homosapiens were around), we started to get more of a
connection with the people we were just reproducing with.
If we move forward into ancient societies, they were the first people to have
marriages. They did this so they had a safe environment in which to breed, handle
the granting of property rights, and protect bloodlines.
As time progressed and humans started to develop more, love and marriage started
to develop as well. With people starting to write love poems, plays, songs etc.
The most famous play written in tutor England and still to this day is ingrained into
pop culture is Romeo and Juliet written by Williams Shakespeare in 1597.

Other Notes: Evolutionary psychology has attempted to provide various reasons for love as
a survival tool. Humans are dependent on parental help for a large portion of their lifespans
compared to other mammals. Love has therefore been seen as a mechanism to promote
parental support of children for this extended time period. Another factor may be
that sexually transmitted diseases can cause, among other effects, permanently
reduced fertility, injury to the fetus, and increase complications during childbirth. This
would favor monogamous relationships over polygamy.

Interview Questions
Chemical Connections
Your brain reacts the same way in love as it is on cocaine by lowering the threshold
of the pleasure centres. This mean you can feel good a lot easier.
But its not the cocaine or the love that makes you feel good, its the fact that
anything you experience will now more easily let off pleasure centres to make you
feel good. Because of this you dont just fall in love with the person, you also start to
build a romanticist world around you.
Interestingly near by pain and nerve centres start to fire off less, so you start to
become less bothered by things.
So, in simple terms we love being in love.
So, when you look at the person youre in love with a serge of dopamine and
morepinephrine from the ventral tegmental area. This not only triggers sexual
arouser in your racing heart, but gives you the motivation, craving, desire to be with
a person more and more.
You see love is not simple an emotion, its a drive from the motor of the mind and
this motor brings about intense energy, focus and elation.
