Significance of Respect

Respect can be defined by many things, either helping a fellow peer, or being kind to

your elders. I can go on and on about what respect means but to me respect is the humbling

factor in your very body that allows your to treat others the right way. Respect carries people a

lot farther in life and with obtaining success, simply because of the way you treat others and

present yourself. Respect must be earned and it is one of those fundamental traits in becoming a

better person. For me it is hard to gain my respect but one you have it i'll move mountains to help

you get what you need, but if violated its really easy to lose my respect. I only respect very few

people and respect has no age barrier young or old. When I think of respect I normally imagine

people helping or being kind to others around them good or bad. Sometimes I feel people don't

respect others but yet they just tolerate the person they're around instead. I feel that respect is the

greatest reward you can earn as a person internally. The one rule I go by Always respect people

until they lose your respect, and by me doing this it helps keep me humble and still respectful.

So respect is the one of greatest rewards for me because it can help with social status or in trying

to obtain a job and that is what respect means.
