All the Regional Transport Officers are instructed to accept

this and issue duplicate driving licence or Registration Certificate as
the case may be wherever necessary. You are also requested not to
insist to obtain certificate from the Police Station for issuing of
duplicate driving licence or duplicate Registration Certificate.

Sub: Tamil Nadu Police - Launch of new online service "Lost

Document Report" in the Citizen Portal- Reg.

As part of e-governance initiative, Tamil Nadu Police IS offering online
services like Registration of Online Complaints, Tracking status of Online
Complaints/FIR/CSR, Tracking involvement of a vehicle in crime, View FIR and
Missing persons & Unidentified dead body search to the Citizens through the
official website of Tamil Nadu Police (www.eservices.tnpolice.gov.in ).
2. In order to simplify the process of lodging complaint about loss of document
such as Passport, Vehicle Registration Certificate, Driving License, School/College
Certificate & ID card, a new online facility namely "Lost Document Report" is
going to be launched on 30.08.2017.
3. Through this online facility, a citizen can report loss of any of the above said
documents and obtain a Lost Document Report immediately. Further, the
complainant can apply for a duplicate document in the concerned department
with the help of this Lost Document Report.
The salient features of the above facility are:

1. Every system generated Lost Document Report (LDR) will have a

unique number. The genuineness of the Lost Document Report can
be verified online by the department issuing the duplicate-.copy.
11. No enquiry/investigation will be conducted by the police' on the
complaint of loss of a document. '
111. A valid government issued photo ID is required to be uploaded by
the complainant and the same will be printed in the LDR copy. The

issuing authority may verify the identity of the complainant before

issuing duplicate/ certified copy of the lost document.
IV. This facility is for reporting loss of documents within Tamil Nadu
only.
v. Delhi Police has successfully implemented this facility since 2014.

4. It is requested that suitable instructions may be given to the officers

concerned to initiate the process of issuance of duplicate copy of the document
lost on receipt of a system generated Lost Document Report. A sample of the Lost
Document Report is enclosed herewith.

5. It is requested that ADGP, SCRB (ph: 044-24959007) may be contacted for

any clarification in this regard.
