DIACLEAN AC-300

Inhibited Acid for Immersion Application

DESCRIPTION

DIACLEAN AC-300 is a liquid inhibited acid product used by immersion for the removal of rust and scale
from ferrous surfaces.

APPLICATION

DIACLEAN AC-300 is used as a pickling in dip processes as follows:

Concentration: 10 to 50 % (v/v)1
Total Acid: 5 to 50 points
Temperature: Ambient
Time: 10 - 30 minutes

MAKE UP

Fill the operating tank with clean tap water to 3/4 of the final volume
Heat up to the working temperature and add slowly the required amount of DIACLEAN AC-300
Fill up to the final volume and after recirculation to homogeneity make the controls

CONTROLS

Concentration
Pipette 1 ml of working bath into a 250 ml flask.
Add 100 ml of DI water and 3/4 drops PP Indicator
Titrate with NaOH 0.1 N until the colour turns pink
The NaOH 0,1 N ml used for the titration is the Total Acid

REPLENISHMENT

To increase 1 point of Total Acid, add 10 13 Liters DIACLEAN AC-300 for each 1000 liters working
bath

The concentration may be increased or decreased as required for each system. Once an effective cleaner
concentration has been determined, it should be maintained for purposes of economy and efficient descaling.
Maintain the strength within 1 point of the value found to give best results.

EQUIPMENT

The process tank, housing, pumps and piping for use with process solution be constructed of any of acid-
proof materials. If gas fired burner tubes are used, they should be made of schedule 80 mild steel pipe or
equivalent. All process circulating pump seals, valve seats, door seals, and other elastomers which come in
contact with the working process solution should be EPDM, Teflon or Viton.

All chemical pump seals, valve seats and other elastomers which come in contact with the concentrated
solution should be EPDM, Teflon or Viton.

STORAGE

Store DIACLEAN AC-300 in a dry, covered place at temperature ranging from 0C and + 35C.

SAFETY/ECOLOGY

Before using DIACLEAN AC-300 read carefully the MSDS.

DIACLEAN AC-300 is strongly acid; we strongly recommend using protective gloves and goggles to avoid
possible burning to eyes or skin. The exhausted bath and the rinses have to be treated in waste water
treatment plant before discharging.
