NEW PLAY EVENT

Syracuse Stage cordially invites you and a guest to a reading of

POSSESSING HARRIET
a new play in progress by
Kyle Bass, Associate Artistic Director
Directed by Robert Hupp, Artistic Director
Monday, October 2, 7:00 pm
in the Archbold Theatre at Syracuse Stage.

Set in 1839 at the estate of Central New York abolitionist


Gerrit Smith, and inspired by true events, Possessing Harriet
tells the story of Harriet Powell, an enslaved woman whose
meeting with Elizabeth Cady (Stanton) and struggle for
freedom becomes a reckoning on the rights of women,
slavery, race, and a testament to the human spirit.

A talkback with the playwright will follow the 90-minute reading.
