Dear Sir/Madam

I, Sayantan Datta Gupta, am currently pursuing M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering program at Nanyang
Technological University, Singapore jointly administered by Technische Universitt Mnchen,
Germany. Prior to this, I had completed my B. Eng. (Mechanical Engineering) from Anna University,
India and also M. Tech. in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing from VIT (Vellore Institute of
Technology) University, India.

During my academic research, I was fortunate to be involved in projects such as Analysing flow
characteristics over a stepped cavity using OpenFOAM and Fluent, Parametric vibrational analysis
and optimization of a viscoelastic sandwich structure using MATLAB and ANSYS APDL (structural).
I have previous work experience in the Aerospace and Automotive industrial sectors. Underwent a years
internship after my bachelors, at the Aerospace division of Larsen & Toubros Integrated Engineering
Services in Bangalore, India, where I worked closely with the DRDO to develop and test a UAV
prototype, involved primarily in the modelling, drafting and assembly of the UAV design using CATIA
V5. A 3D CAD model of a helicopter brake test-rig using CATIA V5 was assigned to me for completion
with necessary inputs. After my masters degree, I had the opportunity to join TATA Technologies Ltd.,
India, as a Design Engineer for the Automotive manufacturing division. Then was posted at the Renault-
Nissan Technology and Business Center, Chennai, India with the Assembly Process Engineering team
catering to the overseas Nissan Automotive plants. As a Design Engineer, I was assigned to analyse
assembly processes of concept cars bound for mass production, using DELMIA V5 and propose
modifications that would enhance the crucial components and optimise the process. These experiences
have imbibed in me, considerable maturity in handling crucial situations. Due to which I can analytically
solve complicated challenges with a more calm and composed attitude.

The current specialization in Aerospace, that I am pursuing, is my passion and would like to utilize my
knowledge as well as experience in contributing to this field, even if it is in the broader outlook. As
mentioned, I have a basic foundation in the field of Mechanical Engineering on which I have persevered
towards Aerospace Engineering. Thus I am comfortable in contributing to both fields, as it would in turn
enhance my skills and fortunately nurture my knowledge further.

I would like to request your kind attention to my resume and consider my candidature for the UK
Graduate Program 2016 at your esteemed institution. I would be glad to be provided with a chance to
express about myself and share my expertise in a more elaborate discussion. Lastly, I am thankful for
your valuable time and hope to receive a positive response should my achievements prove to be worthy
of a suitable chance.

Best Regards

Sayantan Datta Gupta
