Reporting to Executive Director (ED)/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the
project. Responsible for the smooth running of electrical department, ensuring consistent provision among multiple departments. Prepares the Departments Execution Plan. Oversees all departmental and subcontractor issues to ensure contracts and agreements are executed and implemented as per project specifications. Review funding / budgets to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. Liaise with Govt. Institutions on matters concerning Safety / Security / Environment / Utilities. Control of all designs aspects of the scope of working assigned to the Department. Provide technical guidance and direction to ensure efficient project execution by maintaining business practices in Quality Assurance, Health & Safety. Ensure that goals, objectives and all elements are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Reviews plans & specifications and recommend changes as necessary; recommends need for and methods of altering existing facilities. Review equipment and supply needs. Overseas the day-to-day activities of site development, construction, managing vendors & contractors and project scheduling etc. Responsible for control, operational risk management, budgeting and planning for execution of projects. Hold regular department meetings in order to set standards and monitor progress against targets and to provide relevant information to the department in a timely manner. Monitor the performance of all team members of electrical department.
PROJECT MANAGER (PM)
Reporting to Head of Department (HOD)
Prepare Project Execution Plan. Execute the project on-time, within the approved budget and in accordance with the contract specifications. Responsible for infrastructure activities related to electrical i.e. Transformers, RMUs, Sectionalizer Switches & Distribution Boards installation, different sizes of Feeders, HT & LT cables pulling and Street Light Pole installation with Lighting Fixtures. Ensure the quality of materials and the installation of work in accordance with the criteria identified for the project. Pre-Qualification of sub-contractor as per work requirement. Handle all relevant information regarding design drawings and engineering issues. Monitor all aspects of the project Quality Management & Control system. Ensuring that suitably qualified personnel required for the project are mobilized in a timely manner, as required. Follow up with the procurement department for the procurement of material. Reviewing the manpower requirements for the project. Ensure proper material planning, allowing for sufficient time for approval and processing of material requisitions. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Attending meetings with the consultant and sub-contractors related to ongoing site activities and reviewing their progress of work. Identify and take the necessary corrective action to improve the progress and/or quality of work. Handle project petty cash, matters related to invoices, payments. Staff training and appraisal. Knows, understands and enforces all contractual requirements, HSE related legal requirements, procedures and applicable policies on health, safety, security and environmental standards related to the scope of work. Conduct daily site visits and monitor the ongoing site activities.
SITE ENGINEER
Reporting to Project Manager (PM)
Prepare site activity planning in the detailed project schedule. Review the planned activities and confirm the actual resources including the man power, equipment, material, work method and sub-contractor as applicable during the site planning stages. Daily and long term planning at site, coordination, control and efficient utilization of the required resources for all site activities. Coordinate with QA/QC Engineer in receiving and inspection materials at site and generation of material receiving records. Coordinate with QA/QC Engineer in reporting and disposition of Non Conformance Reports (NCR) at site. Reconciliation of all mark-up drawings needed for As-built drawing generation. Regular review/progress meeting with the project team, sub-contractor on the actual current site execution status and plan for the required resources to meet the project target schedules/plans. Overall coordination with the sub-contractor at project site. Coordinate with client representative on inspection/test witness and any other contractual obligation. Monitoring & control of the relevant company procedures to ensure that they are followed correctly. Rectify and implement any deficiencies reported by the client or QA/QC Engineer. Overall coordination with QA/QC Engineer and engineers of other disciplines working at project site. Coordination of all requests for inspection at site and arrangement for inspection and testing at various stages. Monitoring, progress certifications, formal reporting and documentation including quality control of the execution of the work in accordance with the procedures and requirements. Review the Design Drawings & Bill of Quantity (BOQ) as per actual site conditions and suggest appropriate changes as required. Prepare Bill of Quantity (BOQ) and Bill of Material (BOM) as per actual site conditions.
FOREMAN
Reporting to Site Engineer.
Lead the team of machinery operators and helpers. Responsible for in-time material delivery on site. Maintain record for in-house and rental construction machinery used in the department. Assign duties to the workforce to different work locations as per plan. Coordinate with subcontractor regarding rental machinery for their maintenance and smooth operation of site activities. Closely interface with Company departments, co-ordinate and interface with other Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations, and Contractors to resolve issues related to machinery for execution and design integrity. Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of site problems. Orient new team members to familiarize them with work surroundings and explain job expectations, procedures and duties. Provide advice and technical assistance to team members. Plan and adjust the workloads of department personnel to match their skills and abilities. Ability to multi-task, priorities, and manage time effectively. Handle complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits and follow up to ensure resolution. Act as a central point of communication on multiple tasks. Responsible for electrical material yard issues like material storage, material delivery on site, material issuance from ware house and material return if necessary etc.
SUB ENGINEER
Reporting to Site Engineer.
Exercising full control over the workforce on site. Ensuring that work is executed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications, agreed procedures and method statements. Ensuring that HSE rules and regulations are communicated to the workforce and are fully enforced. Monitoring all Sub-contractors work closely to ensure that the Quality of the work is as per specification and is completed on time. Ensuring that all information on drawings is conveyed to the workforce in a proper manner and details produced where required. Maintain safe working environment at site. Ensure a clean and tidy workplace at all times. Ensure that all materials, gears and equipment (including Personal Protective Equipment PPE) needed to carry out the job safely is provided prior to commencement of work. Ensure that work activities do not adversely affect or endanger other contractors employees. Ensure that all work is carried out suitably qualified and trained personnel. Prepare the red-line drawing for As-Built drawings. Review the design drawings as per actual site conditions and suggest appropriate changes as per project specifications and standards. Any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Head of Department (HOD), Project Manager (PM) and Site Engineer.
SUPERVISOR
Reporting to Sub Engineer.
Responsible for the supervision of power electricians, building electricians, helpers and labors. Execute site activities as per schedule and in accordance with site specifications and standards. Arrange resources before starting the particular task like material, manpower, construction machinery etc. Monitor the execution of day-to-day electrical activities, rectify defects as appropriate, manage emergency repairs and trouble-shooting activities to immediately determine the cause of failures and identify how to prevent failures in the future. Prepare material requests. Allocate and delegate tasks to the team of electricians according to their capabilities. Guide electricians, helper and labors for an effective work execution and ensure that the installations are as per design drawings. Ensure that team have all needed resources and tools to properly and safely conduct electrical activities effectively and safely. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.
