Getting Started Welcome to YOOSTAR!

If you’re reading this then YOO are a proud owner of the Yoostar entertainment system. You’re only minutes away from becoming the star
you were always destined to be. Just follow the easy guide below and get ready for an experience of a lifetime.

Yoostar system set-up

 
To set up your Yoostar system properly start by unpacking your studio in a box.
Included in your system are the following letter coded items that our listed in your Quick Start Guide. These include:

Caution
Before using the Yoostar camera, be sure to remove the clear plastic film or
bubble packing that covers the lens. This protective packaging can prevent

Install & Register your YooStar Setting up Your Green Screen

Insert the Yoostar software into the CD-ROM drive
on your PC. Follow the onscreen steps to register
your software. (Users have a 10-day free trial
period before software must be registered.) Now
that you have set up the Yoostar system you need
to register your Yoostar system online.

of the application disc sleeve. Insert the disc
into your desktop computer or laptop and follow
the on screen menu to register your Yoostar unit.

be able to operate the Yoostar entertainment
system.

To assemble the green screen stand hold green

most easily identifiable as the one without a red
arrow tip. Unsnap and extend the legs, one leg
at a time. Once you have two legs open place
them on the floor and open the support leg - the
one without the red arrow.  Now the quad pod
should sit securely on the floor.  When two legs
are fully extended and locked, place on floor
and continue to extend the third and fourth leg of
green screen stand.
Now take the green screen and first hook
the green screen onto the two upper red
arrows.  Then slide the corner of the green screen
on the lower left red arrow and do the same to
the lower right red arrow.
For best results with the green screen, set it up
close to a wall.  You want to avoid setting it up in
front of a window or other light source that could
shine through it from behind.
You also have the option to hang the green
screen on a wall using the grommets on the green
screen corners. For best results make sure not to
throw shadows on the green screen.

Step In, Step Out
It’s important that you completely move out of the
scene, leaving only the full green screen in front
of the camera.  Try not to cast any shadows on
the screen at this point to insure the best possible
composition.
You might consider using a chair with a low or no
back or a stool with rollers is even better to make
the Step-in Step- out process easier.  If you use a chair, make sure it’s not
visible onscreen when you’re in frame, and that it’s completely out of frame
when you “step out”.
Once you have moved completely out of the frame, press the record button.
Record a scene
At this point, the teleprompter will say “PRESS RECORD TO BEGIN
COUNTDOWN” which you can easily do using the record button on the
remote control.
Now you’re ready to start shooting. When you step back into the scene, you
should be able to see the image of the scene behind you when you look on
your computer display.
 
Once you’ve completed the Step-in, Step-out process, you shouldn’t move the
camera, or change the lighting on the green screen.
 
When you’re ready, hit the record button and
you’ll have a 5 second countdown before
recording begins.  5…4…3…2…1

You’ll only see two lines at a time on the teleprompter.
 
Once your performance is completed, you’ll have the option to Try Again,
Save, Delete, or Add Intro.
Shoot Intro
To shoot an intro, press the Add Intro button, and follow the steps on
screen, you will repeat the same Step-in, Step-out process you did before.
It’s that easy.
You don’t have to add an intro if you prefer not to, and you can always
go back at any time to add, delete, or replace your Intro without
affecting your recording.
Managing and Sharing
Performances
Once you choose to save a performance,
you’ll be taken into the Manage Performance
section.  Here you’ve got several options:
Fill in the Metadata fields – this lets you add a
description and tags that will be uploaded to
Yoostar.com with your performance.  This makes
your performance easier to search for.
 
Grab a screen image of your performance for the cascade.  You can pick the
frame that you want to see when your performance populates the cascade.

Click “Upload” to upload your performance to Yoostar.com

Click “Change Intro” to delete or replace only the Intro and not the recording.   On Yoostar.com, you’ll be able to see and rate others’ performances,
This brings you to the ADD INTRO page. participate in competitions, preview other scenes in the Yoostar library, as
  well as purchase and download additional scenes.
Click “Delete” to delete the performance…and the Intro if you previously  
recorded one. When you download an additional scene the new scene will appear in your
  cascade the next time you open the Yoostar application.
You can also preview previous recordings.  Just highlight and hit play to
preview or apply other functions to the recordings saved on your system.

To share a performance, complete your Metadata fields and click “Upload”

Accessories and Options
on the Manage Performance Page.  You will be asked to select a user name.
This will upload your performance onto your profile page on Yoostar.com.  Also included two accessory clips that will give you additional options in
  customizing your Yoostar experience.
Before it uploads, you get to set the permissions for your video.
“Public” means all visitors of Yoostar can see your performance.  With If you have a laptop or computer screen and
“Private”, only you can see your performance.  If you choose “Friends”, want to conserve space on your desk you can use

Prevent the Camera from
Falling
To reduce the risk of the camera falling and damage to the camera itself, set
up the Yoostar camera according to these instructions. Place the camera on a
surface that:
• Is flat and level.
• Is stable and not likely to tip over.
• Allows all three legs of the base to be in contact with the surface.
• Is not likely to allow the camera to slip or slide off.
• Is clean and free of dust and debris.
If the surface or camera feet become dirty or dusty,
clean them with a dry cloth. If the camera is in a
fully extended position vertically, put it on a surface
where it is not likely to fall if it tips over. Arrange
all cables and cords neatly.
When the Yoostar camera is not in use, keep
camera in DOWN position. You may want to
disconnect the USB camera cable if you are using
a laptop to prevent a pull of the camera over.
Prevent the Camera from
Overheating
Do not place the camera near any heat sources, such as radiators,
heat registers, stoves, or any other item that may generate heat.
Avoid Smoke and Dust
Do not use the camera in smoky or dusty locations. Smoke and
dust can damage the lens of the Yoostar camera.

Electrical Safety
Always connect the USB cords according to the following instructions:
• Fully insert the USB cord into your computer’s appropriate port until it
clicks.
As with many other electrical devices, failure to take the following
precautions can result in serious injury or death from electric shock or fire or
damage to the Yoostar entertainment system.
To avoid damaging the USB
camera cord:
Protect the USB cord from being pinched or sharply bent,
particularly where they connect to the computer source.
• Do not jerk, knot, sharply bend, or otherwise abuse the
camera cable.
• Do not expose the camera cable to sources of heat.
• Do not wrap USB cords around the any power supply unit.
• Keep children and pets away from the USB cords. Do not allow them to
bite or chew on them.
• When disconnecting the USB cords, pull on the plug—do not pull on
cord.
• Do not let the camera hang from USB cord.
If a USB cord becomes damaged in any way, stop using it immediately and
contact Customer Support for a replacement. Unplug your Yoostar camera
during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
Note
Do not touch camera lenz with your fingers or allow
metal parts to touch them.
• Doing so may damage the lens and
performance of the Yoostar camera.
Clean only with a dry or slightly damp
cloth. Using cleaning solutions or
attempting to clean connectors may
damage your system.
