Nmeros Cardinales y Nmeros Ordinales

Los nmeros cardinales y los nmeros ordinales tienen similitudes y diferencias. De

parte de las similitudes est que se relacionan con los nmeros naturales, pero la
diferencia est en que los nmeros cardinales sirven para expresar cantidad,
mientras que los nmeros ordinales sirven para expresar el orden o la posicin de
un elemento. Por ejemplo, si 1 es uno en los nmeros cardinales, este mismo 1
ser primer o primero en los nmeros ordinales.

Esto quiere decir que los nmeros ordinales sirven para enunciar la posicin en
orden segn su relacin con los nmeros naturales. Y si 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, y 10
se representan como nmeros cardinales como uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis,
siete, ocho, nueve, y diez. Entonces se representan en los nmeros ordinales como
primero, segundo, tercero, cuarto, quinto, sexto, sptimo, octavo, noveno y dcimo.
Sin embargo, en ocasiones se reemplazan por cuestiones de sintaxis, como por
ejemplo: se encontraba en el piso decimosexto cuando tambin se puede decir se
encontraba en el piso diecisis.
