Consulting Engineer 10/2008 9/2009
Bryan Research & Engineering Bryan, TX

Consulting work and business development in process simulation for Middle East, West
Asia, and Africa. Specializing in amine sweetening, sulfur recovery, glycol dehydration,
and hydrocarbon processing both upstream and downstream. Applicability is in gas
processing, petroleum refining, and CO2 capture facilities.

Achievements:
Performed a market analysis and set a plan to expand the market share in this relatively
new region. Increased presence and awareness of our products among existing clients
and new companies. Provided technical support on process design and operation using
process simulation to enhance the users experience. Organized and held training sessions
in the UAE and Saudi Arabia for engineers from different fields.

Postdoctoral Researcher 12/2006 6/2008

North Carolina State University Raleigh, NC

Development of new process for the synthesis of superabsorbent polymers utilizing super-
critical fluids technology to overcome the disadvantages of traditional processing routes.
The project involved direct collaboration with one of the major superabsorbent producing
companies.

Achievements:
Enhanced the process robustness to obtain consistent yields and morphologies by
advising a well-defined experimental approach aimed at determining the main fac-
tors affecting the process.

Systemized the preparation, reaction, and product analysis stages of the polymer-
ization.

Produced and submitted a patent application to the Technology Transfer Office.

Prepared a paper for publication.
