Extract Records Not Criteria 4 methods:

1) Filter and Does Not Contain Easiest Method

2) Advanced Filter
3) Advanced Filter and Recorded Macro
Array Formula using COUNTIF, SEARCH, ISERROR, INDEX, IF, ROWS, ROW, and
4) SMALL function
Ctrl + Shift + L, or Alt + D + F + F to toggle on and off Filter
Ctrl + L or Ctrl + T to create Table with Filters and Dynamic ranges
Use the Text Filter "Does Not Contain"
Filter hides rows and thus records.
When copying Filtered data notice that the "Dancing Ants only surround the "Visible Cells" - this is
so when you paste only the filtered records are pasted.
Be sure to Paste the records in an area that is not to the left or right of the data set. Below or
above or on a new sheet is required. Why? Because Filter hides rows.

Advanced Filter is different from the Filter feature in these ways:

1) Advanced Filter does not use filter drop-down arrows for filtering.
2) Criteria for the Advanced Filter are placed in cells in the spreadsheet.
3) To run Advanced Filter you use the Advanced Filter dialog box
4) Advanced Filter allows you to extract records and paste them in a new
location, while keeping the original data set intact (not filtered and no
records removed).

The Advanced Filter feature can be invoked one of three ways:

1) Alt + A + Q (Excel 2001 / 2010)
2) Alt + D + F + A (Excel 2003 east to remember because D = Data, F =
Filter, A = Advanced)
3) Go to the Data ribbon, then in the Sort & Filter group click on the
Advanced button

Advanced Filter should have:

1) Criteria area above data set, with field names the same as the data set.
2) Data set setup with Excel Table Format Structure (field names in first
row, records in rows, no blanks)
3) Extract area

The Advanced Filter dialog box has:

i. The option to:
** Filter the list, in-place (we will not do this)
** Copy to another location (we will do this)
ii. List range text box contains data set range.
iii. Criteria range text box contains criteria range.
iv. Copy to: text box contains first cell of extract range.

When creating Advanced Filter criteria with formulas the field name area
must be blank and below the blank is a formula that evaluates to TRUE or
FALSE.

The VLOOKUP function: 1) takes the value you tell it to look

at, 2) looks through the first column of the lookup table
and finds an approximate match (or exact match if you tell
it to), 3) then goes to the column you specify and gets a
