The Mission of the Month for August is Ranch Hope.
Please keep this ministry in your prayers. Ranch Hope
provides a Christian-based learning environment for over 75
boys and girls each year. To help support this mission,
please donate school supplies for which there is an ongoing
need. Much needed items include composition notebooks,
one subject spiral notebooks, ink pens, pencils, washable
markers, and white construction paper. Please place these
items in the box located in the narthex. Thank you!
During the rest of August we will be suspending our
morning prayer meeting. We will begin again on September
12th at 9:20. Please don’t stop praying! Rather, pray on your
way in to church and while you get ready to come. Pray that
the Lord would send his Spirit to revive our hearts and fill
us with his love and mercy.
There are 8 assisted listening devices available for people to
better hear the worship service. They are located in a
basket in the narthex. Please return the devices to the
basket at the conclusion of worship. If you look for a device
and they are all taken please let the office know. We want to
have enough available for everyone who needs one. CD
copies of our worship service are available every Sunday in
the narthex.

September 5th. Rev. Ken Larter from the Deerfield
Presbyterian Church (856-455-1222) will be covering
pastoral emergencies from Aug. 16th – Aug. 28th. Jonathan
Hoeldtke from Woodstown Presbyterian (769-2977) will
cover from Aug. 29th – Sept. 5th
There will not be Children’s Church today.
The Church Family is invited and welcome to attend our
wedding ceremony on Saturday the 21st at 2 pm. We hope
you can join us for our special day.

Substitute teachers for Sunday School are needed for
the Fall. Please let the office know if you would be willing
to have your name placed on a substitute list.
Update for Children’s Church
We have not had many responses to our call for children
church’s helpers this summer, thus we have not been able to
offer it every week. Remember what it was like when your
child was young and full of energy? Sitting through the
worship service is difficult for little ones. Having a Christ-
centered activity can make a huge difference for both
parents and their children. Thank you in advance for making
this important ministry possible. Helpers will also be needed
for the Fall. Materials are provided.
Time of Prayer: On Communion Sundays, the Elders and
Pastor Julia will be available at the front of the church, to
pray for anyone in need. Feel free after the benediction to
come forward and seek prayers and healing for yourself or
come as an intercession for someone else. You may share
any prayer concerns with us…prayers including physical
healing, spiritual struggles, tangible needs, etc. You might
also want to share a testimony of thanksgiving for something
God is doing in your life. You may also request to be
anointed with oil.

Annual Fall Retreat: Join us as we take some time away in
the midst of our busy schedules to renew our walk with the
Lord and our relationships with one another. Our Fall
Retreat this year is scheduled for October 22nd-24th at
the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn in Bird-in-Hand, PA. We
will be learning about the “plain” life and living with
straightforward faith in a complicated world. Please plan on
joining us for this exciting weekend. Children and teens are
also welcome. The final payment of $150 per adult (less
deposits paid) will be due by September 12th. See Bob
Moore to sign up and with questions.
The flowers this morning are presented in loving memory of
Andy Smith by Kitty, Rick & family.
We join in celebration with the family of the child who is
being baptized today. Bella Elizabeth Eachus is the
daughter of Kevin and Michelle Eachus and sister to Chloe
and Colton.

“New Beginnings” Luke 5:1-11
A big Thank You to Harold Ware for playing the organ the
month of August! His time and talents are greatly
appreciated! We also thank Harold for his willingness to play
the organ on September 5th. Margaret will be returning on
September 12th after hand surgery. We are grateful for
Harold’s willingness to step in and help. We are also
prayerful that Margaret will have a successful surgery and
be bringing us her beautiful music once again.
Don’t forget…It is never too early to start writing for the
next newsletter –any articles can be submitted to Jill at any
time (e-mail or put it in her basket). We are hoping to
produce a September issue.
It is probable that the Crop Walk will be sponsored by our
church this year and will be held in the Spring. If you can
help or are interested in learning more about it please plan
to attend the September Mission Team Meeting.
Schedule for TNT
Invite a Friend…Reach out to your neighbor…Encourage a
friend from church to come out and fellowship with us on
Tuesday nights. You do not need to stay for the entire
evening. You can choose one part of the night to
participate or all.

Adults-Alpha Program…come ask questions about your faith
and grow deeper in your walk with the Lord…this is a great
program for everyone whether you have been a Christian for
20 years, just a month or you are still seeking. It is also a
great event to invite a friend to attend.
Youth Group and Kids’ Klub also meets during this time!
Our Youth will be using some of the Youth Alpha program
and our Kids’ Klub will be based on a Christian scouting
program called Pioneers Club where they earn badges for
service. More information to follow.

There is now a sign up sheet located in the narthex for
anyone who is willing and able to prepare a light meal for one
Tuesday Night Together.
 99 Days of Fitness Update
The surgeon general suggests each adult exercise 60 minutes a
day most days of the week for cardiovascular health, but if 30
minutes is what you can do, make that your commitment to your
heart. The hardest part about exercise is getting started so
make it easy on yourself and build it into your daily routine.
After 8 weeks of the 99 day fitness program, we are averaging
about 109.2 miles per week amongst 30 participants who are
recording their mileage. Exercise activity recorded has been
walking, running, bike riding, kayaking, gym work outs, and
zumba! Keep up the great work! The rewards of exercise are to
your heart, muscles, bones and mental health!
It is not too late to start logging your miles. Use the forms in
the narthex to do so or submit miles to www.daretownpres.org .
Be sure to check the Narthex for updates on places we travel
to.
Don’t forget, Anita Murphy will be available the last Sunday of
August to check Blood pressures for anyone wishing to have it

A big thank you to all the people who helped with Kids’
Klub this summer. All the children had lots of fun with
the activities and spending time together.
If you have not seen a friend or “pew neighbor” over the
summer and are missing their presence in church why not
give them a call or send them a note and let them know you
are thinking of them. Invite a Friend to worship for
NATIONAL RETURN TO CHURCH SUNDAY on September
12th.

Holy Spirit. A workbook will soon be available.
Ladies’ Bible Study will be studying the Book of Philippiana.
Join us on September 13th at 10am for the Introduction.
Bring a friend and all your questions! Let’s learn and
fellowship together. We meet in the upstairs lounge and
everyone is welcome.
Ladies’ Luncheon - Monday, September 13th, 12 noon, at
Mamma Mia’s in Salem. For more information or to RSVP

Join us for a prayer meeting on Friday, September 17th at
7:30 pm to pray for Tuesday Nights Together and the rest
of our Fall Ministry opportunities. We will meet at Pastor
Julia’s home. Please make it a point to continue to pray for
refreshment and revival within our congregation and
community. We have set aside the week of September 17-
24th to specifically pray for our new ministry opportunities.
All Boards Meetings –Monday, September 13th
Trustees, Deacons and Elders will meet at 7:30 pm.
Mission Team and Congregational Life will both meet on
September 20th at 7:30pm. If you would like to join either
of these committees please come out and bring your ideas!
