‘METALMUSIKAMP’ STARTS AUG 19 AND PERFORMS ON DEER VALLEY STAGE AUG 25

MUSICGARAGE 2010 SUMMER MUSIC CAMPS CLIMAX WITH TRULY ‘HEAVY METAL’ SHOW

Salt Lake City, UT - Northern Utah’s hard-rock musicians under 19 who are fans of metal bands ranging
from Opeth and Black Label Society to Megadeth and Iron Maiden will have one final chance before
school starts to rock the stage as never before!

METALMUSIKAMP comes to Lee Music, MusicGarage’s Heber City partner on weekday afternoons
starting Aug 19 and 20 with a weekend break resuming on Monday Aug 23, 24 and 25 with a 35-minute set
at Deer Valley on August 25. Enrollment is limited to just a few drummers, guitarists, bassists and singers.
The fee is $250. Several slots are already taken otherwise-metal musicians who completed last month’s
“Party Band Camp’ performing the music of Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder and The Beatles. “Hah- hah –
this is no Beatles show, I tell ya’.” Explained MusicGarage.Org founder Steve Auerbach. “This is metal
and it these kid’s reward for being doing such a great job last month.”

Steve and his staff have offered jazz, rock, bluegrass and blues camps and after schools sessions since
launching in 2009. But not a metal camp – until now. Auerbach continued, “I was inspired by the fact that
almost every young musician in our year-round organization LOVES metal and we have a metal band in
our program. Last Friday, we hosted a five-band all-metal night at the MusicGarage venue that was off-
the-hook fun for all! So it seems a natural to do this.” To help run the five-day camp, Steve hired one of
his former School of Rock All-Stars, Woody Adler - now a Berklee School of Music Sophomore. “Woody
is back for summer and has helped me run camps for years. He plays guitar, bass and drums and is a metal
shred-head.”, Auerbach said.

“I am grateful to Lee Music’s Winston Lee, who understands MusicGarage as an add-on service to existing
private lessons.” Auerbach explains, “After developing School of Rock in Utah and Colorado I realized
that a music program that works in harmony with the community’s private lesson teachers would keep
millions of dollars in that sector. MusicGarage now gives intermediate-to-advanced musicians, new bands,
emerging songwriters and solo artists huge performance opportunities with the support of an expert staff
that work hand-in-hand with the private teacher community.” Year-round, MusicGarage performs at Utah
Arts Festival, Desert Rocks Music Festival, Way Out West Festival and venues such as Molly Blooms and
Mo’s Grill..

METALMUSIKAMP runs Aug 19-25 (weekdays) with a performance at Deer Valley on Aug 25 at 5 pm.
The camp meets in the afternoons with openings for intermediate guitar, bass, drums and singers. Cost is
