2 Installation Instructions

This information is included as a quick reference installation guide. Refer to the

appropriate screen for detailed information.
3 System Requirements

4 Hardware requirement
Pentium IV, 2 GB RAM, 1 GB Free Disk space

5 Software requirement
Note: Make sure you are logged in as Administrator and the Administrator
Account should be the member of RTC Server Application Group and
MSN LCS Service Account i.e. LCService Account should be the member
of RTC Domain Server Admins and RTC Server Application.

Pre-requisites

6 MySQL 4.0. Or above.

7 MyODBC 3.51 Driver.
8 ODBC Driver for Dot Net Framework.
9 MSMQ - Microsoft Message Queuing Server.
10 JDK 1.4 or above
11 Apache Tomcat Web Server 5.0 or above.
12 IIS SMTP components.
Installer will install the “Apache Tomcat Web Server 5.0” if it will not find on the
system.

Note: Select the path as JDK1.4 or above for the JVM required by Tomcat web
server while installing it.

E.g.: “C:\j2sdk1.4.1_02”.

Arc Mentor Pre-requisites Installation

13 Install My SQL 4.0 or above for Windows. This is freely

available and can be downloaded from My SQL
website.

14 Install MyODBC 3.51 Driver. This is freely available
and can be downloaded from website.

15 Install ODBC Driver for Dot.Net Framework. This can

be downloaded from Microsoft website.

16 Install MSMQ - Microsoft Message Queuing windows

add-on component which is available on Windows
2003 Server installation disk.

17 Create a queue in Messaging queue named my queue

Right click on My Computer->Click Manage->Go to Services and
Applications-> Go to Messaging Queue->Right Click on Private Queues-
>click on New and then private queue-> mention the name of the queue
as “my queue” -> click Ok
A private queue is created.

18 Settings of the Default SMTP Virtual Server

Right click on My Computer->Click Manage->Go to Services and
Applications-> Go to Internet Information Services->Right Click on Default
SMTP Virtual Server-> click on the properties-> click on Access tab and
then click on Relay button (last button) -> select Only the list below -> click
on Add  Enter IP Address of the Server  Click on OK.

Note: Install SMTP Component manually from Windows 2003 Server

installation disk as SMTP Component is not installed by default.

19 Install JDK 1.4 or above for Windows. This is freely

available and can be downloaded from website.

20 Arc mentor Installation
To Run the Setup

Execute: “Arcmentorsetup.exe”

Default Installation Location

“C:\Arcmentor”

The Screen describes the product and company name i.e. ArcMentor for Microsoft Office
Live Communication Server 2005 and ArcMentor Inc.

For further details you can log on to www.arcmentor.com

Click Next to continue or Cancel to abort installation.

20.3 Pre-requisites

This Pre-requisite screen shows the pre-requisites required by the ArcMentor for Microsoft
Office Live Communication Server 2005.

20.6 Requirements

The ArcMentor will install Apache Tomcat 5.0.28 web server in case if it will not be installed
on the system.
Note: If the mentioned software is not installed on the system then the screen appears as
shown below.

The screen will appear if Tomcat 5.0 or above web server is not installed on the
system.Installer will install “Tomcat 5.0.28 web server”.

Click Next to continue or Cancel to abort installation.

20.7 Company Information

To get the registration of the “ArcMentor” software you need to fill the basic details like
company name and user name.

This is mandatory and cannot be left as blank.

Click Next to continue or Cancel to abort installation.

20.9 Live Communication Server Information

You need to enter the Host name and IP Address of the Live Communication Server where it
is installed. This is the basic requirement for the “ArcMentor” software.

This is mandatory and cannot be left as blank.

Click Next to continue or Cancel to abort installation.

20.11 Database Information

20.11.1 Enter MySQL Database Server IP address, Username and Password.

By default IP Address – localhost, User name – root and Password (Blank)

Note: Make sure the permission is granted for the entered IP Address, User name and
Password, if it is different from the default values.

To Grant the permission command is

grant all on *.* to ‘USERNAME’@’IP ADDRESS’ identified by ‘PASSWORD’;

Click Next to continue or Cancel to abort installation.

20.13 Post Installation Summary

20.13.1 After Successful installation of ArcMentor the screen will appear as
shown above.

20.13.3 Click Finish to complete the installation process.

Restart the Tomcat Service

1) Start menu  Programs  Tomcat server  Monitor Tomcat  Stop Services

2) Start menu  Programs  Tomcat server  Monitor Tomcat  Start Services

To Access Web Interface

21 Start Tomcat Server
Start menu  Programs  Tomcat server  Monitor Tomcat  Start Services

22 Type the URL in the browser as

http://localhost:8080/Arcmentor

Username: guest
Password: guest

To Start ArcMentor Logger

Go to Folder C:\Program Files\ArcMentor and run the executable file – “Arcmentor.exe”

Or

Click on Start Menu  Programs  ArcMentor  ArcMentor

On Arcmentor Application

Click on <Start Logger> Button to Start

Click on <Stop Logger> Button to Stop
