2011

We have been certified by P3 Communications as the most advanced GSM / UMTS /

CDMA network in Romania for mobile data services, following the first measurements

2012

We were the first operator to offer users the highest mobile Internet speed of up to 43.2

2013

Vodafone Romania has been certified by the independent auditor P3 Communications for
the performance of Internet browsing services on the smartphone. Compared to the other
GSM / UMTS networks, measurements have shown that Vodafone Romania offers "best
internet access" and "the most stable internet surfing connection" on the smartphone.
We have opened the Danubius Regional Network Operations Center, which serves
several Vodafone divisions across Europe with network incident monitoring and
management services for voice and data services. Today, the center monitors 2G / 3G /
4G networks and manages network incidents in 9 countries.
We have been certified by the independent P3 Communications auditor for "smartphone's
best data service" and "best broadband mobile data service" across all LTE / UMTS /
GSM networks in Romania in metropolitan areas.

2014

The Vodafone brand has reached 30 years of existence. The name "Vodafone" was

We introduced the mobile chat service for the first time on the Romanian
telecommunication market.

2015

Vodafone Romania is certified for the best data and mobile services score. Compared to
other networks in Romania, the measurements show that Vodafone Romania has obtained

Vodafone Romania, the leader of 4G roaming services, extends its coverage to over 50

Description of the company

Vodafone has over 3,000 employees around the world and relies heavily on students who
are promising as promoters.
Vodafone Romania is the second largest mobile phone operator in Romania by number of
customers. The company was launched in April 1997 as the first GSM network in Romania.
Prior to November 2005, the brand was known only as Connex, after which the name was
changed (through a transition period in which the company was named Connex-Vodafone) in
order to be integrated into the Vodafone global network.
 Vodafone is in direct competition with Orange, currently the largest Romanian operator
by number of customers, although Vodafone (Connex at that time) held this title until September
2004. At the end of 2005, Connex-Vodafone had 6 million customers . Vodafone Romania, a
division of Vodafone Group Plc., Had 9,819,000 customers on June 30, 2010. Vodafone is the
largest mobile telecommunications group in the world with approximately 347 million customers
on June 30, 2010. Vodafone currently has divisions in 31 countries across 5 continents and over
40 partner networks around the world.
Other competitors are: Telekom (Cosmote) and RCS & RDS.
On April 25, 2005, Connex launched for the first time in Romania the 3G service,
based on UMTS technology (W-CDMA). In October 2006 Vodafone launched in Bucharest the
3G Broadband service (HSDPA - 3.5G).
Starting February 2008, the company offers high-speed mobile internet at speeds of up
to 3.6 Mbps.
Since April 2010, the company covers over 90% of Romania's population with high-
speed mobile internet on the UMTS 900 MHz network at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps in the
country and 21.6 Mbps in 16 major cities and destinations Romania.

Vodafone Romania turnover in fiscal year 2015-2016:

Vodafone Romania recorded revenues of 688.4 million euros in services in fiscal year
2015 - 2016, ending March 31, up 5.6% over the same period, announced the mobile operator. In
the fiscal year 2014-2015, operator revenues declined by 6.7% to 656.6 million euros. According

Compared to December 2015, the user portfolio increased by 18,853. Of the total
number of customers, 8,461 million are mobile users compared to 8,463 million at the end of
December 2015. Vodafone subscribers accounted for 41.1% of the customer base and 58.9%
card users. Pre-paid service users grew 0.8 percentage points over the same period last year.
Vodafone Romania's mobile average revenue per user (ARPU) reached 6.2 euros from 6 euros in
March 2015.
Mobile data consumption increased by 131.9 percent in the quarter ended March 31,
compared to the previous year. Vodafone Romania is a division of the British Vodafone group,
with divisions in 26 countries, 57 partner networks worldwide and fixed broadband operations in
17 countries. On March 31, Vodafone had 462 million mobile users and 13.4 million fixed
broadband users.
In Romania, the Vodafone subsidiary is the second player by number of customers and
turnover, after Orange Romania and before Telekom Mobile Communications Romania (former
Cosmote) and RCS & RDS.
Vodafone Romania turnover in fiscal year 2016-2017:
Vodafone Romania registered a total of 9,441,063 customers (mobile services, voice
services and the Internet of Things) in the fiscal year 2016-2017 (started on April 1, 2016 and
ended March 31, 2017), up 320,918 compared to the previous year, and revenue amounted to
707.2 million euros, up 2.7% in organic terms compared to the previous year. Of the total
number of customers, 8,744,061 are mobile users. Vodafone Romania's ARPU (average revenue
per customer) was 6.1 euros in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. Vodafone Romania
represented 41% of its mobile customers base on March 31, 2017, and Vodafone Vodafone users
59 %.
The share of prepaid service users in the total mobile customer base increased by 0.2
percentage points over the previous year.
Mobile data consumption in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017 increased by 100.4%
over the previous year. The penetration rate of smartphone terminals in the user base increased
by 3.7 percentage points in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017, compared to the previous
quarter. Vodafone Romania is the second local mobile operator by number of customers and
turnover, according to Orange Romania. Vodafone Romania is a division of the British
communications group Vodafone. The main competitors of the company on the Romanian
market are Orange, Telekom and Digi Mobil.

Number of customers

2016
 Vodafone Romania has reported over 9,120,145 customers on March 31, 2016, up by
18,853 against the previous quarter. Of the total number of customers 8,461,054 are users of
mobile services.
Revenues from services for the fiscal year 2015-2016 have reached EUR 688.4 million,
up by 5.6% against the previous year.
On March 31, 2016, Vodafone subscribers accounted for 41.1% of the customer base and
Vodafone prepaid cards customers accounted for 58.9%. The number of pre-paid service users
increased by 0.8 percentage points as compared to the same period last year.
Vodafone Romania recorded a revenue growth in the third quarter of last year.
The mobile compnay registered a total of 9,053,810 customers on September 30, 2015,
up by 546,371 against the same period last year. Of the total number of customers 8,432,970 are
users of mobile services.
Service revenues for the quarter ended on September 30 has reached EUR 172.9 million,
up by 4.0% against the same period last year in organic terms.
On September 30, 2015 its subscribers represented 40.7% of the customer base, while the
prepaid Vodafone service 59.3%. The number of prepaid service users increased by 0.8
percentage points as compared to the same period last year.

2017

Vodafone Romania reports the financial results for the quarter ended June 30th, 2017

Bucharest, July 21, 2017 Vodafone Romania announces the key performance indicators
for the quarter ended June 30th, 2017, as reported today by Vodafone Group Plc.

Vodafone Romania had 9,579,522 total customers (mobile, fixed voice and machine to
machine) at June 30th, 2017, representing an increase of 420,241 users as compared to the same
period of last year. Out of the total number of customers, 8,871,482 were mobile customers.

Vodafone Romanias mobile ARPU was Euro 6.1 over the three months ended on June
30th, 2017.

Service revenues for the quarter ended June 30th, 2017 reached EUR 178.6 million,
increasing by 2.9%, compared to same period last year, on an organic basis.
 At June 30th, 2017, mobile postpaid customers represented 41%, and prepaid customers
59% of the total mobile base. Mobile prepaid base as a percentage of total mobile base increased
by 0.3 percentage points as compared to the previous quarter.

Data usage increased by 102% for the quarter ended June 30th, 2017, compared to the
same period of last year.

New Vodafone Romania partnerships - eMAG, PCfun, Cel.ro, PCGarage

Vodafone Romania announced on April 15th signing a series of partnerships with the
main online stores in the country, www.emag.ro, www.pcfun.ro and www.cel.ro, through which
their customers can buy Vodafone mobile data subscriptions online, with the purchase of any
laptop or netbook from the stores. Soon, the online store www.pcgarage.ro will join the program.

International benefits
The national minutes included in the subscription can also be used for international calls to fixed
networks in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy,
Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, UK (excluding Northern Ireland), the Vatican and
fixed and mobile networks in the US and Canada, except for special and premium destinations. The tariff
for calls made to other international destinations that are not included in the subscription is the

The international mobile minutes included in the RED subscriptions will be consumed for mobile phone

Rates applicable to services not included in subscriptions or in excess of the benefits included are as

To browse the net on the 4G network, you need a 4G compatible smartphone, a 4G compatible 4G and a
promotional offer of at least 6 credit. If you do not have a 4G Compatible SIM, go to the nearest

International calls

International mobile minutes are available to Italy, Spain, Germany, UK, France, Portugal, Hungary, USA
and Canada.

National Minutes and "What You Want" units are available to all US and Canadian networks and fixed
networks in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, UK,
Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Hungary. The 500-minute international bonus is valid for 90 days and is
granted only once per Card.
Since interconnection rates with certain international operators are higher than the standard, your
international minutes will not be consumed when you call the prefixes in this list. They will always be

Send SMS with YES to 2777 and sign up for Net Net Use, Net Get. Upon signing up, you get the 30,000

The subscription benefits from Internet traffic at 4G speeds up to 50 Mbps download and 20 Mbps

Contract
The offer is valid for new contracts or contract renewals for 1 or 2 years. The modem is available at the

The data card may only be used in Vodafone-authorized terminal equipment that the Customer purchases
on activation and only in one fixed location. Using Wifi Home in any other device or in multiple locations
will cause the service to be blocked until the next billing date or disconnected in case of repeated
