As per INTI Universitys requirements for Blended learning via BB, 10% is allocated for
continuous review and blended learning activities in order to gauge the level of understanding
of the students throughout the semester. This include flipped classroom activities and the
subsequent reflection via BB.

Coursework Instructions:
After forming into groups via BB (self-enrolled grouping), students within the group are
required to select an emerging industry organisation of choice (such as Amazon; Facebook;
LinkedIn; Alibaba; Google; Uber; Tencent etc.) as the organisation under study. The
following are the key parts to review for the organisation selected

3) Match the strategies adopted by the organisation selected to BOTH Greiners Growth
Model (which stage of growth, what crisis has the organisation overcome) and the
Organisation Lifecycle model perspective (standard lifecycle; scallop or recycle)

4) Identify the possible causes or factors that may lead these emerging industries
organisations to fail and hence, to restructure or re-model the organisation to
overcome those causes (use the PPA template) 20%
5) Review how industry 4.0 will influence strategic management in the future for
business organisations (support with literature) 10%

Students will be assessed on their insights, understanding and application of the module
related concepts and class lectures to the companys situation.

COURSEWORK 3: Individual Assignment (40%) Theoretical Discourse

Dateline: Week 9

Coursework Instructions:
Choose any of the Strategic Management theories provided under the syllabus of this
course (the list is also available from Blackboard). Conduct a secondary research for the
chosen topic and select an organisation to do a comparative analysis to evaluate whether
theories related to the strategic management theory selected is reflected in the practices of
the organisation, and to ascertain whether the adoption of the theory had led to improved
organisation performance.

Assessment criteria will be based on the Form as shown below which is to be attached to
the assignment before the final submission.

Students will be evaluated on their thinking processes, specifically, the following:


Serious, Meticulous Reading of the Theory selected with Understanding; Definition
and Analysis of Issues and Problems; Understanding of implications of facts and,
critical recurring and newly emerging issues; evaluation of feasible and robust
solutions which demonstrate the ability to integrate and synthesize and apply
knowledge in rational, objective and creative ways.
In preparing for the theoretical discourse, students are required to discuss based on the
following format:
o Thesis focusing on the theory and what previous researches had mentioned
with regards to the relevance to organisation performance
o Anti-Thesis to critically assess alternative views with regard to the strategic
management theory selected and to relate the theory to organisation
performance.
o Synthesis what were the synthesis (combination of the theory with other
strategic management related elements) that had been established by past
researches to link the theory (and its other combinations) to organisation
performance
