My fellow constitutents of Australia By Twitter and Facebook

Support your Independent Candidates Between now and on and after 21 August

In response to requests from a number of people and sources I have compiled and set out below a full list of
contact details for all of the independent candidates for every Australian (House of Representatives) electorate
that is fortunate to have an independent candidate.

I have done this to meet many requests for this information after, a few days ago, I wrote to my fellow
consitutents of Lalor informing them of our options to vote independent of the 2 major political parties at general
Federal House of Representatives and half Senate elections on 21 August 2010.

I urged you to get involved between now and on 21 August 2010. Support your independent political candidates
– if you are lucky enough to have one (or some). For example by handing out how to vote cards or as an
election count scrutineer.

Remember, not one of these independents gets taxpayer funds to fund their campaigns. Under our cushy 2-
party written electoral laws (which by the way are almost certainly unconstitutional and illegal) only the Lab(or)-
machine party and the Lib(eral)-machine party get their hands on taxpayers monies for campaign purposes.

Each of these independent candidates have actually had to pay a specially candidates tax (quaintly, under those
same cushy and illegal electoral laws, quaintly called a “deposit”) for exercising their fundamental civic and
political and constitutional right to stand for the Australian Parliament.

I, and others, will be challenging the illegalities and unconstitutionalities of the 2010 Australian election in the
very near future. At the very least I, and others, will be exposing the (many) illegal actions likely to be used by
the Australian Government to stop these illegal electoral laws and practices, these blights on democracy, from

being tested in the Courts and to stop them from being exposed in the (free ie non-Government controlled)
media.

In the meantime, and this week, I urge every Australian to get involved in our democratic process, by supporting
independent political candidates. To this end I reproduce (with suitable tailoring) my letter to my fellow
constitutents of Lalor, making my suggestions generic for all (most) House of Representatives Electorates
where one or more independent candidates are standing.

FOI

I wrote a few days ago to the Australian Electoral Commission, sending the AEC a Freedom of Information
Request for copies of documents lodged by all Australians who sought to nominate themselves either for the
House of Representatives or the (half) Senate election being held on 21 August 2010.

My FOI request is a follow up to my (unanswered) letter to the AEC of 31 July 2010 requesting an explanation
how comes, when the Lists of House of Representatives Candidates for the 2010 Federal Election was
published on the official Government website www.aec.gov.au shortly after 9 pm on Friday evening my name
was missing from the list of Candidates for the electorate of Lalor (Vic).

With my usual attention to detail, I filed my AEC Form 60 nomination as an independent candidate for Lalor on
27 July 2010, and more than 40 hours before the 11:59:59 am deadline on Thursday 29 July 2010. So the
Australian Government (specifically, the Australian Electoral Commission) has a great deal of explaining to give,
as to why they left me off the ballot papers for Lalor.

Wake Up Australia – Stand and Defend our Rights to Real Democracy

There are a lot of imbalances and oddities associated with our unique Australian, kangaroo democratic process.
Australia is a 'first rate country run by second rate people' as Emeritus Professor Donald Horne wrote in the first
Australian written best-seller 'The Lucky Country' in 1964. And as the 2010 election campaign (and the Gillard-
Rudd coup d'etat) have embarrasingly demonstrated to us and to the world.

There are lots of Australian government electoral laws and practices (Labor and Liberal made and adored by
them and their Australian Electoral Commission). I and others will be submitting many of these un-democratic
and (anti-democratic) illegal laws, rules and procedures before the High Court of Australia in the near future.

Burmese Days – Shady Elections

Burma announced two days ago that its first general election for 20 years will be held in November 2010.

Burma refuses to let human rights dissidents (such as Daw Aung San Suu Kyi) stand as political candidates.

It seems the Australian Government (a Duocracy) operates just like Burma's Government (a Monocracy) Burma
happens to be a monocracy, a military junta and not a cosy 2-party lawyer junta as the Australian Government
seems to be. (Lawyers represent only 0.001% of the Australian population, but account for 99.9% of all
parliamentary, judicial and head public service positions. (When I was a boy, a mere 35 years ago I recall that
more than 50% of judges, hearing more than 50% of court cases were not lawyers – they were Justices of the
Peace – with deep roots as part of the communities that they sat in judgement for and over). How far and how
fast has the lawyers duocracy come? (Try to name 6 out of more than 200 ALP and Liberal politicians who are
not lawyers? See the problem for the 22 million non-lawyer population of Australia?

The Australian Government, just like the Burmese Government, refuses to allow human rights dissidents (such
as me) to stand as political candidates for general elections. Mind I don't see the United Nations, the
Commonwealth of Nations (whose Queen is our Queen), or any other international governmental organisation
taking the same sort of interest in the plight of Australia's poor democratic injustice and wholesale human rights
injustices as they do in Burma. I wonder why we in the lucky country are not so lucky?

(Via its Australian Electoral Commission) the Australian Government has behaved just like the Burmese
Government, illegally blocking independent candidates, by enacting and operating illegal laws, laws that violate
the Australian Constitution, violate binding international human rights laws, violate divine laws and violate
natural justice (which according to UK, USA and Australia's Highest Courts is the source of all laws).

We saw a small example of this 10 days ago in the unprecedented and extraordinary Full High Court of
Australia judgment (without reasons) handed down at midday on 6 August 2010 in Rowe & Anor v Australian
Electoral Commissioner & Anor. Such cases normally take 2 ½ years. This one was Judged in as little as 2 ½
weeks. Curiouser and Curiouser.

How and why did this case get up in such an unprecedented and extraordinary hurry?

And who were the faceless men and women that were really behind it? True patriots? Fighters for democracy?
Really?

Like the reveal-all title to American (global) TV's “real” Judge, Judge Judy (Sheindlin)'s first book “Don't pee on
my leg and tell me its raining”.

It seems that in Australia, like Burma, the Government (via its Australian Electoral Commission) manipulates
voter roles, candidate nominations and even electoral boundaries (more on this third, intergenerational, scam,
later).

I suspect that, when the Australian Government complies with my Freedom of Information Request I will
discover that I am not the only Australian political activist that the Australian Government illegally refused to
allow to stand for political election this Saturday (21 August 2010). I recognise that what should be a 2 ½ week
process (see above) may be a 2 ½ year process (see above). I recognise that this FOI process may require
another unprecedented and extraordinary Full High Court judgment ordering the Australian Electoral
Commission to comply with the Australian Constitution and with Australian privacy and transparency and “first
amendment” laws.

As a top-tier commercial, government, and constitutional human rights lawyer of 20 years good standing, I am
more than up for the challenges. And I am blessed to be young enough to see my efforts and the efforts of
others bearing the fruits of our labours in 3 or 4 decades from now.

Lalor By-Election 2011

The immediate outcome for the people of the Federal Electorate of Lalor is that there will almost certainly be a
By-Election for Lalor in 2011. I recognise that this may require another unprecedented and extraordinary Full
High Court judgment declaring the 21 August 2010 ballot for Lalor as invalid and ordering the Australian
Electoral Commission to call a fresh By-Election.

By-Elections like the upcoming 2011 Lalor By-Election have been called many times during Australia's turbulent
century of unique, kangaroo democracy. Usually this is due to misconduct or mistakes by one or more of the
candidates. Rarely has a By-Election occurred because of misconduct or mistakes by the Government (its
Australian Electoral Commission).

Maybe the Rowe & Anor v Australian Electoral Commissioner & Anor judgment is sufficient grounds to require
the re-calling of a proper full general election in 2011 or 2012 under proper electoral laws and practices. We
might find out when the 7 Full High Court Judges write and publish their reasons for their majority decision last
week, which will probably be in a year or so as is the norm for the Full High Court – eg the 2004 (hearing) 2005
(judgment) in the infamous lawyers v the people case of D'Orta-Ekenaike v Victoria Legal Aid & Anor.

It will be interesting to see how many other legitimate political candidates have been illegally blocked by the
Australian Government (its Australian Electoral Commission) for the national poll on 21 August 2010. If a
pattern emerges from my FOI investigations, we may well see a series of By-Elections across this once great
nation during 2011. I will keep my supporters and followers updated on developments.

Support your (AEC authorised) Local Independent Candidates

As with my letters to Lalor Electorate of 31 July and 14 August 2010, for now I urge that the Australian
Government's Burmese Ban on my nomination for the 21 August 2010 general election not be a cause for lack
of morale.

Things always have a way of working out for the best. And even the grimmest of crisis (which, by the way, this
isn't) carry the seeds for the greatest opportunities.

I encourage the people of Australia to investigate and to support one or more of the “AEC approved“
independent candidates standing in their Electorate, where you are lucky enough to have one, or in some seats
even several, independents standing.

I attach a comprehensive listing of all independent candidates for the House of Representatives, including their
email, phone and postal contact details where these have been disclosed by the Australian Electoral
Commission.

Unlike the Lab(or)-machine Lib(eral)-machine TweedleDum TweedleDee Political Parties, independent

candidates do not have millions of dollars for advertising and pork-barreling. Nor do they get paid by taxpayers
for running for parliamentary office. Not even the minor parties get paid by the taxpayers for running for
parliament. Pauline Hanson's One Nation was very much a novelty in this regard. Only the TweedleDum and
TweedleDee of the Lib-Lab Duocracy receive taxpayer funding for their electoral campaigns - under the
unconstitutional Acts of Parliament that they passed and nurtured in turn, and which the High Court is yet to
properly rule on (read 'rule out' on constitutional grounds). Only the TweedleDee and TweedleDum parties get a
big enough percentage of primary votes to get paid to run for election. How rather undemocratic this must seem
to those in the know.

Nor do independent candidates have lots (generations of accumulated) of paid and unpaid staffers and
followers to hand out how to vote cards at the polling booths or to sit as scrutineers and observe the counting of
each and every ballot paper (at least 3 different times) by Australian Electoral Commission full-time and co-
opted (univ student) employees.

No, all Australians are not equal under our lawyers v the people laws. And not all Australian political candidates
are equal under our lawyers (name 6 out of 200 liberal or labor politicians who are not lawyers) v the people
electoral laws and practices (including taxpayer funding for candidates).

Become a “How to Vote Card” Volunteer or a Voting Count Scrutineer for your Independent Candidate(s)

The ideal number of how to vote card handlers for a candidate is 5 people for every voting place in the
electorate for the whole of the Saturday 21 August day's voting.

Scrutineering is an ideal way to see democracy (or Australia's wonky kangaroo version of it) in action. You get
to see what goes on inside the Australian Government (Australian Electoral Commission) counting houses on
the night of the general election. Just remember to pack your own sandwiches and thermos (and don't count on
finding a kettle or microwave oven there).

So becoming a scrutineer and/or handing out how to vote cards for independent candidates is a great way to
get politically and civilly active, to meet new people who deserve respect for the civic minds and interest in
public affairs and the future of this once great country of ours – regardless of whether they support the
TweedleDee's or TweedleDum's or one of the minor parties, or are people of open and independent minds).

All Political Candidates, independents as well as those “endorsed” (owned?) by the two major and the four
minor senate parties are forbidden by law (its a crime, actually under our untested and probably illegal election
laws) from being at or near a place where voting occurs, except one time only for the very specific and brief
purposes of lodging their own personal vote.

I can't see the constitutional, international, divine or natural justice reasons or support for this prohibition on
normal civil liberties of movement and association. But even if it is mindless (another great Australian political
tradition shared in common by the Lib(eral)-machine and the Lab(or)-machine of the past 3 decades) these
electoral laws, are applied and observed irrespective of whether they are actually legitimate or are illegal laws.

Clearly these illegal (?) laws operate as a much bigger discrimination against independent political candidates
who are under resourced and under “personned” compared to the (lab)or-machine and lib(eral) machines of our
TweedleDee TweedleDum Duocratic Government. And unlike 30 years ago, take a great big bow if you can tell
me which machine is Dee and which one is Dum these days.

Independent Candidates Deserve Respect, Fair Hearing and Fair Support

Seize the initiative and contact one or all of your local Independent Candidates via the contact details in the
attached list. Contact them by phone and, or, by email.

I assume each independent intends to steer their voters' final preferences to the Liberal Party endorsed
(? owned?) candidate rather than the Labor Party manufactured Chair Lady Mao Tse Mack the Knife
Macbeth candidate. Otherwise, why would they bother standing? Ask them. If this is correct, offer to hand out
their how to vote cards and to scrutineer for them on 21 August 2010.

Remember each of these independent candidates paid a $500 deposit (a quaint name for an illegal tax on
democracy). And each of them collected 50+ signatures from Lalor registered voters (another unconstitutional
quantitative non-price barrier to democracy) in less than 3 days after the election date was announced (more
illegal Government electoral process) in order to get Australian Government (It's Australian Electoral
Commission) to accept their nominations, under the Australian Governments unconstitutional electoral laws and
rules. So each of them (including the anti-racist campaigner sporting the full Klu Klux Klan evening dinner wear
at the Werribee Railway Station), each of them deserve respect, fair hearing and fair support from us in the
electorate. Much more than the Dees and the Dums do.

It is important to remember that a “protest vote” to the Australian Greens will end up on a two-party
preferred basis as a vote for the TweedleDums (ie incumbent Julia Gillard).
