Dear Julie,

I hope youre doing fine. Im writing this e-mail to you to say hello and, also, to tell you I decided to
take your advice: I will travel a bit around Europe. I know nobody expected me to make a decision like
this, but I think I really need to be away for a while. I already searched for information about the
weather in some European countries, and I found that the best season of the year, for me, is summer;
you know I love sunny days and it is always rainy here.

I consider a 6-month experience is enough, and if everything goes as I have planned, I think I could
visit several cities. Also, I feel I should go to natural reserves, climb mountains, go trekking, swim in
lakes or rivers, and do other similar activities because I am very passionate about animals and nature
itself.

Another important reason for me to travel in summer is that I dont have many winter clothes. I have a
couple of coats that work in Bogot but theyre not appropriate for colder places. Obviously, I may buy
some more clothes but I dont want to carry lots of things wherever I go, I want to travel comfortably.

Can you recommend me a safe place to exchange money? I saved some money last year and, now, Im
ready to exchange it for euros, but I dont want to take the risk of going to a place that is not reliable.
Im asking you for this favor because you know this city more than I do.

My mother is a bit worried about my trip. She went to Paris last year and saw that, in general, life in
Europe is more expensive than in Colombia. Also, because she hates when I go away and leave her
alone for so long. Anyways, this is the happiest time of my life and I hope to enjoy the most of it. I
wanted to share my joy with you because you are a true friend to me.
