Hi Tara,
Im having a lonely time in Sydney. Its really hot and sunny and weve
already spent a lot of time on the beach. On Saturday we went on a boat trip.
We sailed under the harbour bridge and we saw lots of dolphins. It was
fantastic. Yestreday we went shopping and I bought lots of souvenirs. I
havent visited the opera house yet- and I havet seen any kangaroos!

Hi Sam,
Carole and I are in Moscow. Its very cold and icy- yesterday it snowed a lot.
But I like cold weather and were having a great time. Weve already seen a
lot os sights. Yesterday we visited the kremlin and we walked around Red
Square. It was fascinating. We also took a coach tour of our city.
We havent seen a ballet at the Bolshol Theater yet- were doing that
tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the scarf that you sent me for my birthday. Its
gorgeous! Its very warm and colour really goes with my eyes. Ive worn it
every day for the last week. Sophie wanted to borrow it yesterday, but I didnt
lend it to her- she never gives things back!
I really enjoyed my birthday. Mum and Dad gave me some money because
Im saving for a holiday in the States. ( I reckon Ive nearly saved enough for
the plane ticket!) . Sophie gave me a DVD of The Two Towers, the second
film in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Have you seen it? I havent watched it
yet, but my mates say its brilliant.

WRITING TIP!
When you write a letter, organise the information or your arguments. Each
paragraph should focus on one key topic.
Task 4: Imagine you have a new exchange student. Plan a letter
introducing yourself to him or her. Choose topics for paragraph 2 or 3
from the list in task 2. Make notes for each paragraph.

weeks as a shop assistant in my local pet shop. We have also got two cats at
home and I look after them.
