A POSTCARD (TO BE CONTINUED)

Dear Patricia,
Weve been in Malaga for three days now, and were having a terrible time.
The holiday started really badly- the plane was delayed and it was nearly 1
a.m. when we arrived at the hotel. The restauranthad closed, so it was agood
job we still had some sandwiches from the journey. The next day we set off
early for the beach. It said in the holiday brochure that it was only 100 metres
from the hotel to the beach- which is true, but there s a motorway in between!
The hotel itself is OK- but they gave us a room right above the disco, so it was
impossible to get to sleep. Theyve given us another room but it isnt much
better. It probably isnt worth complaining again, though.
Its time to go dowm for dinner now. Lets hope its better than lunch.
See you soon.
Love, Hilary and Daniel xxx.
Dear Sam,
Im in Scotland, but I wish I wasnt. Its Thursday now, and its been raining
since we arrived on Monday. Its really cold, too. Still, its no use meaning-
we cant do anything about the weather. The journey up here was OK, but it
took ages to find the hotel. Then yesterday, I lost my wallet- it had all my
money and cards inside- and had to go to the police station. Its unusual for
Jackie to complain, but even shes had enough and wants to go home.
Id better pack my bag now. Were going to Fort William first thing
tomorrow.
Love, Simon.

Task 1: Answer the questions:

1. What was the first thing that went wrong for Hilary and Daniel?
.
2. What did they have to eat when they finally arrived?
.
3. Why are they unhappy with the room they are in now?
.
4. What was the hardest part of Simon and Jackies journey?
.
5. Why did Simon have to go to the police station?
.
6. Why does Simon have to pack his bag?
