Religion in the view of futurologists

In the journal, John Naisbitt and Patricia Aburdene in his book 'Megatrends 2000', say
that organized and formal religious followers are declining, while the religion of
spirituality will increase. Then, they argue in the 21st century there will be a tremendous
tendency in human life. This tendency will automatically require preparation and
simultaneous shaking in some aspects of life.

Younger groups take a different course, rejecting authority, turning for inward clues,
either through Eastern religion, meditation, or exploring human potential. A young man,
Naisbitt says, wants this religion to be presented traditionally into little by little, so that
he understands a life, feels spirituality, and learns to plunge into the soul. This spiritual
consciousness does not exist in the major religions and is organized, but it is in small and
fundamentalist sects. The recent rise of sects has thus increased in terms of the number of
followers and their quality .and propaganda.

Responding to that opinion I think potentially any kind of religion can give birth to a
fundamentalist religious form. Such as the appearance of intolerance towards people who
have a different understanding. As a result, it is easy to punish other people who have
other opinions in the sense of kafir. Therefore it takes a balanced understanding of
religion so it is not easy to accuse others. Likewise, the emergence of fundamentalist
religious sects such as the opinions of Naisbitt and Aburdene will be easy to use as tools
so that they can also arouse jihad against their followers. Therefore, the existence of a
formal religion will be maintained by enriching the spiritual dimension.
Because in today's modern life, we can not deny the fact that encounter with differences
is a necessity. In the awareness of plurality, there are various attitudes and worldviews in
pluralism that is a concept of recognition of difference. The way of the view of the
plurality is something that plays an important role in the life of society today. The other
real thing is that humans are social creatures who live side by side and can not live alone,
which of course need each other's help, the religion adopted should not be restricted
considering that a proper attitude and perspective about plurality make a great
contribution to the creation of society That is democratic.
