Lesson idea implementation: After modeling and example of a story the teacher created, the teacher will
instruct the students to write their own short story and create a book. The students will use Microsoft
PowerPoint to type their work, and add digital images and graphics t their book. The lesson will be given after
a writing and grammar lesson. This PowerPoint that the student create will take place of their typical creative
writing journal, so instead, they will write using this productivity tool.

After the teacher reads the example story and models all the basic tools of Microsoft PowerPoint with the
class, he/she will let the students work with partners to write and create a story. The students will be
assessed on the writing specifically, but the teacher should look for creative use of the technology tools given
to the students. Once completed, the students will then record their voices reading the stories they have
written, taking turns for each page with their partners.
