WHAT MAKES THE CAMERON TYPE IIF" GATE VALVE A
BETTER VALVE FOR OIL FIELD SERVICE?

The Cameron Type "F" Valve is a

double seat, non-rising stem, lubricated,
conduit gate valve which meets or exceeds
API Standard 6A.

1 Positive Rotating Seats. This feature

places Cameron Type ..F" Valves far
ahead of conventional valves. Sturdy dogs
engage gear-Iike teeth on the outside di-
ameter of the seat rings to rotate the rings
a fractio~ of a turn each time the valve is
operated. Rotation of the seats. exposes
fresh metal to absorb the erosive blast of
line fluids during the critical time just as
the port in the gate is uncovered on open-
ing, or just as flow is being pinched off on
closing. Wear is then distributed over the
entire sealing surface of the seats instead
of being confined to a small area at the
lower end. Seat rotation then extends the
life of the Cameron Gate Valve many times
that of a conventional valve.
~

2 Gate and Seat Assembly. The gate,

seat, and retainer plate assembly is So
designed that it may be quickly and easily
replaced without the need for special tools.

3 Solid Gate. The one.piece gate con.

struction employed in the Cameron Gate
Valve not only helps prevent line sediment
from entering the body cavity but also pre.
cludes the possibility of the valve becom.
ing pressure locked when the upstream
pressure is bled off .
7 Stem Pin. The stem to adapter pin is So sized that if
a high overload torque is inadvertently applied to the

CAMERON HYDRAULIC AND AIR OPERATED GATE VALVE- TYPE "F"

For Drilling Production Service-Alloy Steel

The Cameron Gate Valve can be supplied in all sizes and pressure ratings for remote
operation by either compressed air or hydraulic fluids.
Both the air operated and hydraulic operated models are identica' in construction. ex-
cept for the size and pressure rating of the operating cylinder.
The air operated valves have an operating cylinder of such a size that the valve will
operate under the most severe conditions normally encountered in the field with only 125 psi
air pressure. New valves, well lubricated. will operate against rated working pressure with less
than 75 psi. The cylinder is rugged enough to withstand 300 psi non-shock test pressures.
however.
Hydraulic operated v~lves have their cylinders sized for normal operation with 1500 psi
operating pressures but have a heavy enough wall to withstand 5000 psi non-shock test pres-
sures.

Overload or test pressures applied to the

opening side are absorbed by the adjust-
ing nut in the blind cyJinder head, and,
thus, are not transmitted to the stem.

AII cylinder operated valves utilize a

special body having a lower stuffing box
through which passes a tail rod from the
gate. The purpose of the tail rod is three-
fold:
(1) It acts as a pressure balance for the
L

D
stem which connects the gate to the
operating piston.
(2) It compensates for the volume dis- I
placed by the operating stem and,
thus, keeps the grease packed in the
gate cavity of the body from being
displaced and the line fluids or sedi-
ment from being drawn in, and
(3) It serves as an indicator to tell
whether the valve is ..open" or
..closed."
