Problem: With the LT-400 attached, Automatic Tray Selection will not function properly / will not
pull paper from the desired tray determined by the size of the original document.
Recommended Solution: Download and install new Flash ROM firmware Version H from
brothersupport web site.
System Requirements
Setup
1) Make sure that the equipments power cord is unplugged from the wall socket.
2) Make sure your computer is powered off.
3) Connect the IEEE 1284 parallel cable to the parallel interface port on the back of the facsimile.
4) Connect the other end of the IEEE 1284 parallel cable to the printer port of your computer.
5) Power on your computer.
6) Power on the facsimile while holding the number [0] key, the unit will chirp once, release [0]
and press the number [1] key, next it will chirp twice, release [1] and press the number [2] key,
when it chirps three times release [2] and press number [3] key, if you have done the
procedure correctly you will hear a series of musical tones.
7) The machine is now ready to be flashed.

5) Once you have typed this command line the machine will beep intermittently. Once the
file has finished downloading you will hear musical tones, The LCD will say please wait,
and the machine will come up to Date/time and Fax on the display.
6) At this point you will access the maintenance mode by pressing Menu, 0, 2,8,6,4 within
2 seconds. Then you will key in 01 and the display will say Parameter Init.
7) When this is completed the machine will go back to Maintenance on the display. You then
enter 7,4 to key in the Country Code.
8) The country code for the DCP1200 is 1001. Then you press the SORT key to store your entry.
9) Press 11 to print out the configuration list. On the top of the first page you will see REV.
followed by a group of numbers, which at the end has VER. Followed by a letter. YOU
NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT LETTER IS the same as the version you downloaded.
This will confirm your successful download.
10) Press 99 to exit the Maintenance mode.
