Dam Stability Note the solution takes moments about point O. Youd get the same solution taking
moments about the toe of the dam, but neglecting the reaction force on the bottom of the dam. This
is justified at the point of tipping, as the reaction forces would be zero at that instant (remember that
from statics!).
