PERSONAL PROJECT 2
WEEK 5 FEEDBACK

Generally there are still issues with everyones proposal from Week 4. Please try
to firm up the proposal by this week (Week 5) so that individually, you will be
clear on what to achieve on your Personal Projects on a weekly basis. As this
module will self managed, the proposal and weekly updates form quite a large
sum of your total assessment (15% to be precise).

Most of you opted for OPTION 1: An idea generated from your Final Year Project
but not included into the final output.

Firstly, please make sure you summarize your research in your description. By
including all your research into the description of your project, you are basically
just plagiarizing what has been proposed for FYP. Really, you are not writing a
description of your PP2.

Please amend accordingly as most descriptions are actually your FYP and not
PP2. Give a working title for your PP2, a description of what your PP2 is. You will
feel you need to reference your FYP as you have chosen OPTION 1 but please be
conscious that your are writing a proposal for PP2, so limit and pick only the
relevant information from FYP to be included. BGCD take note as this happens
in a lot of your proposals.

Secondly, the majority of you misunderstood CONCEPT. In design terms, a

concept is generally understood as:

an abstract idea; a general notion

synonyms: idea, notion, image, impression, picture, style

an idea or invention to help sell or publicize a commodity (your design)

For reference on how to fill the CONCEPT part, please refer to TAANUSHAs
proposal. MAE-CHEL (MICHELLE) also understood it but unfortunately, her
concept has been extensively used in her description.

Above all else, please retain the formatting, dont change the typeface, point size,
spacing, no visual, no research etc. as the standardization of the proposal makes
it clear what each of you will be striving to achieve. A somewhat good
understanding of the requirement of the proposal can be found in some of your
proposals. Although these are not perfect YET, please check out:

Individually, I have noted down what needs to be tweaked for each proposal and
a brief guideline on areas to relook at are:

1 BARISA | Description should be about PP2 not FYP

2 YANLIN | Description should be about PP2 not FYP, Formatting
3 JUNE (WAN SEEN) | Formatting, Description, Concept , Method: slight tweak
4 CYNTHIA | Description and Concept should be about PP2 not FYP
5 DAYANA | Description should be about PP2 not FYP, Formatting
6 JENNIE | Description should be about PP2 not FYP
7 KATRINA | Description should be about PP2 not FYP
8 JC | Description should be about PP2 not FYP, Formatting
9 MICHELLE | Description, Concept: interchangeable.
10 CHULALAK | Description should be about PP2 not FYP, Formatting, Weekly
Plan
11 JANNIE | Description, Concept
12 SHUKIE | Formatting, Description

17 YASMIN (SHIN WEN) | Concept
18 VON PEI | Formatting, Concept, Weekly Plan

20 CASEY | Slight tidying up on format, Concept, Aims & Objective

24 ARDAVAN | Concept, Outcome, Weekly Plan Formatting

Generally, you would all need to reread your proposals and amend it. Make sure it
makes sense and gives the best description on what you are all about to embark
on and are trying to achieve. A working TITLE would provide a good guideline for
how your proposal should be written. The proposal is meant to be short, precise
as well as concise. So dont sweat the small stuff.

Now, when it comes to the blogs, everyone has done a good job with
commendable and notable good examples from VON CHEW | REBECCA | MAE-
CHEL | ANGELICA.

Notable for wrong formatting is YANA | SHUKIE | ARDAVAN. So the three of you
will have to make sure following posts adhere to the formatting that has been
briefed to you.

Week 5 post is due this Friday 29th SEPTEMBER 2017 at 1800. Please create
individual folders in your respective folders for each weekly progress (ie. Week
5 Progress in folder called WEEK 5) What you chose to update me with will
depend on yourselves individually and should be guided by your own project
management and weekly planning. Remember, archive, archive, archive as all
progression work will be needed to update your respective weekly updates on
your blogs too.

Now, as there are 24 of you and we have only 4 hours weekly, I have divided you
into groups of four which will see me on an hourly basis so that we will minimize
waiting time and I would be able to facilitate your module and give each of you
enough time individually (6 students per hour so each of you will get 10 mins).

Each group will come and see me during the designated hour so this will
minimize time wastage (no sitting and waiting around for me for 4 hours! ) and
maximize your time for working on the project. If additional time is needed,
please consult me individually and I will try to make time for you on my other
time slots. The groups will rotate on a weekly basis so that there will be a fair
distribution on early/late consultation times.

Please find your name in the group list and come for consultations on the
designated time.
