HUNGER FIXER

The recipes in this blog are for you if you are a health-conscious person who wants to enjoy
low-calorie food without compromising much on taste. Majority of the dishes are nutritious
and healthy hunger-fixers and certainly NOT party dishes. A large number of the recipes are
based on one spoon oil concept and are recommended basically for diabetics, cardiac
patients, dieters and weight-watchers. Enjoy cooking,enjoy eating!

67. DIABETIC FRIENDLY ATTA (FLOUR) FOR ROTIS


INGREDIENTS

1. Chana Atta (Bengal Gram flour) with husk kg


2. Jau (Barley) Atta with husk kg
3. Ragi/Mandva ( Finger Millet) Atta kg
4. Soyabean Atta kg
5. Oat Bran kg
6. Bajra (Pearl Millet) Atta kg
7. Jowar (Sorghum Millet) Atta 1/4 kg
8. Methi Dana/Methre (Fenugreek) Seeds 100gms
9. Badi Saunf (Aniseed) 100gms coarsely ground
10. Ajwain (Carom seeds) 100 gms (washed, cleaned and dried)
11.Dhania (Coriander seeds) 50gms crushed or pounded

PROCESS
Mix all the ingredients together and store in a jar.
Use it for making a variety of rotis by mixing with any of the
following items:
Grated gobhi (cauliflower), chopped methi (fenugreek) leaves,
boiled palak (spinach), grated radish (mooli), boiled and crushed
matar (green peas), boiled/left-over daal, boiled keema, grated
paneer (cottage cheese) etc.
In addition, do add a few chopped green chillies, chopped onion,
adrak (ginger), lahsun (garlic) for making healthy rotis.

CAUTION
Please do NOT add Makki ka atta (Corn/Maize flour) as it is very
high in starch and has high glycaemic index, not good for
diabetics/calorie-counters.

Maa m...what is jowar and can it be added in this formula?

Thanks Shoumi Dutta for pointing out. Jowar is also a millet and can be added in the flour for
the diabetics as it has a low glycemic index. On your pointing out, I have added it above.
