Saturday, June 10, 2017 the Archonette and the Amicette Clubs of Omicron Omicron Zeta Chapter concluded
their year with a program in West Deptford. Welcomes were delivered by Amicette President, Destiny Harper;
Archonette President Doshjinira Love and OOZ Chapter President Vanessa Hamilton. This year, the theme for
the youth programs was Service Matters; based on the Sororitys national theme celebrating the Sororitys
century of service.
The ending project for the girls was to showcase their talent. The advisors believed that each entrant had a pas-
sion for something that represented their unique talent. Showcasing this talent becomes a service to the com-
munity and ultimately, the world. The girls performed their talent of choice via a rap of reverence; spoken
word through thought-provoking poetry; unveiling works of a young artist and the precision, poise and move-
ment of dance. The audience, which included several Zetas and Amicae, were very impressed with the young
womens performances.
The Advisors (Soror Baynes and Madeleine Leach) passed out awards for Community Service, Educational
Excellence, Sisterhood and Leadership. Youth Coordinator Sharon Suber announced that each group received
1st place State awards for Z-HOPE. Special acknowledgements went to Induction Speakers Shadaia Leach and
Rapheleita Spence; workshop leaders Denise Poole of Heart 2 Heart Services and Marissa Monroe, Society of
Black Engineers (Dr. Keith Green of Rutgers University) who included the girls in the colleges Black History
programs and to the parents that came each month to help with the girls activities.
Kudos to the Youth Advisors who do an amazing job working with the girls throughout the year.
