Routine: 5 Purpose: Get Sts ready to start working.

Before getting into the classroom, Ill open the door a little bit and show a part of my puppet. With a different
voice, I pretend to be the puppet and greet them. hello children!!! How are you today? When they greet the
puppet, we go into the classroom and I introduce my friend Mr Puppet. I tell them that the st who works
best that day will take the puppet home as a reward for a day. So the following class, he/she will have to bring
it back and another st can take it home. The idea is to motivate sts to work hard in class and behave properly.
T: hello everyone, how are you today? Do you like my friend Mr Puppet? He can go home with you today,
you only need to work properly and enthusiastically. Ok. Its time to work! Lets teach Mr Puppet the HELLO
SONG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN1Cyr0ZK9M . (This is their routine song so everybody sings the
song in order to teach it to Mr Puppet).

Transition. Lets see what he has brought for you today.

- Lead-in or Warm-up
Warm up: 5 Purpose: To introduce the topic and the teaching points

I open the puppets bag and take out an envelope full of holes, inside there is a picture of the PARTS
OF THE FACE which is the topic of the class and the idea is that sts can guess the topic while playing
this game.

T: Look! Mr Puppet has brought you THIS BOX. LETS SEE WHAT IS INSIDE!!! (I will put all the parts of
the face of Mr Potato Head and move the box in order to make some noise. = this. Do you know what
it is? Commented [A1]: They probably don`t know the word in
English, but is it relevant? I mean, you can just skip this question
I elicit from them that its an envelope. and have children guess what is inside the envelope.

T: do you know what he has inside the envelope? Do you want to know? Ok. Lets sit on the floor
and make a big circle. Great, now I will show you the envelope and you need to peep in order to see
what is inside it and guess the topic of todays lesson.

I walk around the class showing the sts the envelope, accepting their predictions and repeating them
aloud.

T: can you guess what is inside? Lets guess I need one volunteer. Who wants to come to the front,
put his hand inside and guess what is inside?? = one at the time, sts will put their hands inside the box
but without looking and by touching the different parts of the magnetic parts of the face, they try to
guess what they can touch, so I will take that part of the face out of the face and show it to the class.
We start placing them in the magnetic board trying to make up Mr Potato Heads face. We will be
doing this until the face is completed.
Transition. Well done!! You have completed Mr Potatos Head!!! Now lets check that you
remember the words that you learnt with Ms Brianda last class? ..

OPEN YOUR EYES (so I open my eyes, opening hands for emphasis)
